A question for all Slough Town FC supporters

Well done Ted and everyone else who donates today, it's a great start to our fundraising. Whoever suggested advertising in Slough High Street before each home game was a great idea. Ideally there would be 5 fans all wearing the home shirts, armed with fixture flyers, old matchday programmes to give away?, discounted vouchers?, mini match posters? to give out to the 100's/1000's of shoppers. Who knows there may be loads of young boys and there dads with nowt to do that afternoon who may be tempted to come, or at least have an excuse to not go shopping!!!

There does seem to be a problem of trust which I think is understandable. When a business cannot file accounts in a timely fashion alarm bells start ringing. The Trust does not own the club -And I appreciate that the Trust is there to support the club and help out. The first thing that TVSL should do (just out of politeness when asking for money)is show the Trust its accounts and plans/budgets for the future. This plan should be based on 1) No new ground is ground sharing and 2) the new ground. This would allow the Board to then make an informed decision.

It is interesting that some people would feel happier giving to the Trust. (I'm also sure there are people who don't want to give to the Trust!)

Also at present an outside investor would prefer to deal with the Trust as opposed to TVSL as the only information on the company is that its late filing accounts.

It seems to me that the Trust Board should see the accounts review the budgets and then perhaps canvass its members (or arrange a meeting) to see what they want to do and whether there is infact any alternatives.

well it is normally the owners of a company/football club that would stump up the major cost of running their club as they have ownership, if the ownership passed to the trust then you could say more that each and every esupporter should play a larger role in finance, i do definately think judging from opinion of stfc supporters that more cash would be forthcoming if it was a trust owned club, the stadium plan then is could then be run by investors and trust in partnership maybe.IMO

Well have read most of your comments :

and taken on board what clive and roger and Mr anoyomous is saying ... I will instruct TVSL , when the accounts are presented ..to hand over the running of the club to the trust as it now seams most of you are losing the basic understanding of what Ian and I have said..in above posting...

TVSL own exactly what ? the football team and what else ?

There is an offer to become a major part of the new organisation and the biggest possiblity the club has had in years ! to get its self back into the Borough and have a free hold stadium with a trustees place for the trust on the board to secure the ground....for ever....

In return the club has asked for some help, excuses under the sun are being traded on this web site....a case of the fiddler still fiddling when rome is burning...comes to mind...

I have stated that over my dead body ! I want the trust to be major player and again I will pledge that this will happen...

and as Ted did today to actually stand at the club entrance and actually do something constructive to help...and Thanks to Ted he raised from the supporters a very handsome £320 pounds...Thank you Ted...and our supporters

I am now getting to a point to actually get a bank loan for the money needed to carry us to an end of november date ...so to end your worry that the trust money will be lost to TVSL ...

But That will not stop me ensuring that the trust indeed get their place on the trustee board..but if it all fails at least you guys will carry on the football club for your members when TVSL hand the club over to you...or you will have your chance to start a new team which maybe yor best option....I guess.

Just to be clear on this Chris, are you saying that irrespective of the financial position of TVSL and with no budgets forthcoming from TVSL/STFC that the Trust should just send a cheque?

I am only one voice but I would like to be clear.

I think Anon is saying :

If the trust hands over it's money now and the new site/stfc goes to the wall, the trust will not have any money left to pick up the pieces.

And presumably the counter argument is "If thev trust could manage to make a donation now, it is much less likely to end up in pieces" Whichever way it goes, fans should not fall out with each other. Both viewpoints come from people who want the best for the club.

Chris you are twisting words!

Supporters do wonder what is going on, as I will list below examples:

TVSL have only one of the Directors turn up at games - when was the last time Bernard was at a game?

Why was Bernard not present at the Jayne Bradbury meeting?

Why are the accounts for TVSL overdue?

What type of financial commitment are the Directors of TVSL making?

If the situation is so promising why are TVSL not going to their bank manager and asking for a loan?

And you wonder why people are cautious about handing over their money to TVSL?

If you want to know what I did - well I belive I made the largest donation to the Barmy Army yesterday - Roger may be able to confirm that, as well as adding to Teds collection.

As I have stated previously when there is a transparent and accountable system in place more will follow!

SR1 and Chris.

Have a talk the next time you are both at a game.

It is just too easy for people to mis-interpret others words when written down, be that on an email, letter, or in a forum.

Face to face you can sort out any misunderstandings straight away, and it will only take 5 minutes.

I guess an alternative question could be what type of commitment do people expect them to make? TVSL was established as a means of getting ownership/title of STFC away from FRUS, not because Roy and Bernard had oodles of cash to replace Martyn's contribution. Setting up TVSL did STFC (and therefore its supporters) a huge favour as had FRUS still been around the current Arbor Vale proposal wouldn't have got past first base.
