Farnborough v Slough Town - Updates

With Davies leaving we have NO strikers and NO one who is prepared to shoot.

Farnborough were far the better team and it could have been double figures!

The only way we will stay up is by relying on inability of Newport and Bracknell as we dont have the ability on the pitch to sort our own fate out.

How many games does it take to show that this team (the over paid has beens) are not up to it - it is only the youngsters who show any promise.

Change is now overdue.

With both being left-footers, that will be a problem I think. Talking of problems it seems that we have lots of them. We hardly look like creating a chance, let alone scoring. Attrell had one fisrt-half and Murph had a free-kick straight at the keeper in the second, but that's it.

We need new players in, but is there any cash to do it?

According to reports Wilko was in contact with some players after the replay with Hillingdon.

I would assume Chris or Gary would know what the outcome was?

As it stands we are going to score very few goals and we will be relying upon Newport and Bracknell not picking up many points.

Talking of forwards where was Matt Miller tonight?

Another heavy defeat which was always on the cards once the early goals had gone in. We did play some half-decent football at times, but that counts for nothing when you don't have attempts at goal - not sure what Lee Charles was afraid of tonight, or why he needed to have a pop at other players who were showing more ambition.

As far as I can see, there's no easy answer to this - no money means the inevitable departure of players, and we can't afford to go down another level. What's the answer? Play the Slough Juniors?

I think we have a squad of players that are at least capable of avoiding relegation with some degree of comfort, and if we carry on the way we are going we are going to in serious trouble, especially if Bracknell, who drew at Bridgwater on Saturday keep improving and we don't. Is it about time we consider a change of manager?

Am I the only one to think that for 3/4 of the game Charles ran his b*llocks off and only ran out of puff towards the end and was certainly no worse than any of the others.

Playing the juniors is certainly not the answer as relegation would be a certainty.

I think the current squad, when all fit and available, are just about good enough to stay above the bottom two, so keeping them together is a must.

You don't know until we've tried? Besides, judging by some of the comments here they may have a bit more desire to win than the current team do.

Charles showed some good touches and was involved in a lot of our good link-up play, but failed to pull the trigger when he really needed to - not good in a side struggling to score goals. Too often he looked to pass it off to someone else and the chance was gone, and let's face it, we don't have the same threat that sides like Farnborough have, so we need to take chances when they come our way.

I didn't say I wanted to replace them with juniors. I merely meant that you don;t know what these "juniors" are capable of until you've seen them.

Maybe we should give them a try if performances don't improve?

Lets put this into context . Farnborough are a very good team, we were carrying some injuries , some players missing ..have ever all the cards are stacked up against us, the team did try to go forward , and we were left woefully short at the back ! at times.... clinical scoring by a free flowing team that are going to be at the top, there or there abouts at the end of the season !
