Town were lucky to retain Andy Jones on the pitch after a poor tackle on Kye Ruel. Charlie Hasler was saving well. Town won a free-kick and Rudi Hall just skimmed the shot past the top corner with the keeper well beaten. The new star Darren Grieves does appear to give town a new dimension and Jay Leader was forced to score in his own net in an attempt to prevent Darren 1 – 0. Andy Jones had a shot. Jones and Grieves linking well.

Second half Jay Leader was booked after a handball right in front of the ref in the box. Rudi Hall said thank you very much 2 – 0. Ricci then collected the ball outside the box danced past the defence and slotted it home 3 – 0. What did the confident town fans chant? We are going to lose 4 – 3. Paul Campbell volley from cross skied. Ricci Crace scored again but was adjudged to have fouled the keeper. Andy Jones off and former Derby County player Michael Lyons on. Aveley eventually score 3 – 1. Town fans go quiet and start looking at their watches. Paul Campbell makes a superb solo run and fails to complete. David Bastian skies one. A marvellous shot from Michael Lyons has the keeper poking the ball over his bar in a spectacular full stretch save. Michael Lyons had another shot.

Man of Match: Adam Gant

Good result although I know we can play even better. However, once again we were lucky to have 11 on the field of play at the end of the game, or should I say after 10 minutes.

Target man up front did make a difference and it is now upto everyone to play to our strengths.

Crowd of just over 200!

Here's looking forward to Tuesday's game.
