Fair enough, and I agree totally about the on-the-pitch comments, but if we all gave up then the club would have died long ago.

 

I know you're sceptical to say the least about the stadium plan, but none of us are counting any chickens. One thing's for sure though, it is the club's last hope and we need to get through the rest of this season somehow, otherwise I don't think there will be a club to take up the site. For a start, much of the funding is dependent on us staying at this level. We need to retain as much support as we can, regardless of what's happened in the last 10 years.

 

We all want the club to return home, and we both know that includes you.

Ok Warren honest answer:

 

If we get relegated to the glorified sunday league of Combined Counties would you come to matches as regularly? Not a dig/ presumptious or sceptical, just want an answer. To show im not digging ill use myself as a case in point, I was happily travelling to places like Gateshead/Stalybridge to watch conference level football, i definitely would not make journeys of that distance (if there were such in the combined counties) to watch CC league football.

Probably would Marcus. And if we had to reform at an even lower level still would come.

I tried to watch and support other clubs round Sussex but it just didn't feel right. Strangely, being miles away and having left the town nearly 14 years ago i feel more part of the club now than ever before, and we could be entering a really exciting period in its history.

On Warren's note above. It is weird, I've lived away from Slough for 20 years now, and my ties back to the town are stronger now than ever. It's very hard to explain.

Well done to both of you, because was thinking about it and your travelling expenses to get to home games must clock up pretty seriously, its a shame when we have fans willing to travel from the sputh coast to watch matches we can't manage to get more than 0.2% of the population of Slough.

I hate to think of the costs, so I don't.

 

It does get me out of work early (4pm) for evening matches though. It's either get there early, or at half time.
