Trott wanted to keep Sappleton, but Sappleton wanted to go full time. Protheroe was awful at right back and clearly showed on the pitch that he didn't want to be at the club much longer. I think the reserves are making too much of a big jump going from reserves to first team, i personally think we should send them out on loan for a little while in a more competitive league.

 

So my message to you Trott is, if there is any promising players in the reserves send them out on loan, so they can gain first team experience and therefore they will a graduel rise up to the required ability instead of being good for the reserves then the next week not as good for the first team.

 

Sorry if it does not make no sense at the moment i can't seem to put it into better words.

my take is that if you are over say 23 and have only played ressie football or below in the past then that's your lot and fair enough you can stay a ressie player. Youngsters yes give them experience in minor cup games or at other clubs (on loan)and hopefully like Axon they will move upwards.

I read he has gone back to Bromley.

 

Maybe RT will sign a new defender(s) before next saturday's league match;or will it be like last season when it took over 5 months to get a striker.(Haworth in March after advising of commencing search in October-remember Varney and all that messing around )

 

Of course-there is an alternative:

 

Coach the defence to perform better with better organisation and positional sense.As a defender himself, a tad disappointing that RT has not been able to improve our defence by coaching.

 

Maybe they have been working hard on that this week.Better late than never.
