Billericay v Maidstone

Wahey! ... A good result against a decent maidstone side. But even more pleasing on the back of 3 convincing defeats we come back and win by scoring 4 and conceding nothing which highlights the great team spirit Matty has built up in the team. Lets hope thats our form slump over and from now on in its up up up grin

Abbo hasn't been my favourite player since he joined but he put in a really good shift today and looked like he was growing in confidence. Flacky again ran his socks off and scored a good goal, bradley took his goal superbly and hodgey scored another trade mark goal. But what impressed me was boots sharpness after he'd been out for quite a while; his finish was sublime and i think matts going to have a bit of a dilemma whos going to start upfront against Heybridge on Friday.

Even more promising was that the defence regained its solidity that it had been lacking in recent weeks and Blewitt put in what was for me a MOTM performance because he didnt put a foot wrong.

An all round good team performance! C'MON YOU BLUES!!

Hooray!

An empahtaic win to blow away the doom and gloom cobwebs.

We have the quality up front to trouble any defence in this league and I thought we returned to "functional" football in other areas of the pitch, which paid dividends. TBPH I was a bit disappointed with Maidstone considering they had a couple of players back who were missing from the Cup game, but then again that's not really our lookout.

Let's hope we can continue in this vein on Friday for what's beginning to look like a corking fixture.

Well done lads!

I would repeat JL's senitiment... "Hooray"...

A team performance in all departments and back to being a "unit". When we play like that, there are not many teams that can live with us. Last night the team showed the quality that every supporter knew was there.

I know it's unfair to pick out one player but I would like to say, Mr. Paul Abbott, you did well last night. I was impressed. More of the same on Friday from yourself and the rest of the team...Hell...mor of the same for the rest of the season...

Great to see a return to winning ways. And the quality of the finishing last night was superb.

Agree that both Abbo & Blewitt were outstanding.

I think we all know that Friday evening will be a different proposition, but what a great confidence builder that was.

And Sean, it's just nice to know you still care wink

A very good performance and great to see us defensively solid throughout the team. I thought the midfield were excellent and praise must go to the 2 wide men (Abbott & Hodges) who created so much for us.

We scored 4 excellent goals and look so exciting going forward at times.

Roll on Friday!

Thanks UM smile

Anyway, twas just what the doctored ordered last night. There were many pleasing points from our last 4 league games and hopefully (just maybe) it has got our slippedy slip out of the system.

All four goals were simply - Stunning.

But more to the point the team stepped up to be counted last night and thats all we ever ask.

But, it is only one performance - So keep it up lads - But well done ! wink

Well, what a difference from the last 4 league games. Excellent turnaround from the boys. Most of what i wanted to say has already been said, 4 superbly taken goals. One day well see Hodges score an average goal, but he does have a habit of scoring absolute belters.

Again would echo what was said about Abbo, a much improved performance from him. His interception and pass for Flacks goal was superb. I stood on the touchline in the right wing position in the first half, and was pleased to notice the supporters stood there encouraging him, and tried to do the same myself. Hes taken some stick in the past, and i think its right that we support him when hes doing well, and even when hes not. After all, we are supporters, and were there to support the whole team. Keep it up Abbo.

Flack put it another excellent display. Considering he was top scorer last year, its very encouraging that hes managed to push on even from there. Hes been outstanding all year.

The clean sheet was also a big plus from last night. Maidstone arent the most threatening team well face this year, but the defence was solid all night.

As said its only 1 game, but all the same it was a game to cheer me up a lot. Lets hope the lads can push on from here and have a good run to put the season back on track. Friday will be a cracker, see you all there.

Well what to say without repeating the sentiments already posted.

My MOTM has to be Flacky the bloke is like lightening.

Abbo & Hodgey were gerat on the sides and played some great shots in. Hodgeys goal was IMMENSE.

And Crowd MOTM (IMO) has to be the songster Keth.p who lifted the lads & Ladies behind the goal, You could almost see it transfered to the players.

Oh and chant of the night = Tony Boot boot boot, He can Shoot shoot shoot, In his Suit suit suit, LOL again IMMENSE.

Well done lads.

What a difference a few days can make. Well done to Matt and his team for motivating the players, and for them responding so well. Certainly a lift for the supporters !!

Don't think I've often seen a game where all the goals were of such good quality, and there was a period in the second half where we were firing in shots from all over the pitch.

Back up to 10th in the league and despite the previous poor run we have certainly been treated to a feast of goals at New Lodge this season - the trick from now is to make sure this continues and that they are all scored by the Mighty Blues!!
