Tonight's Aldershot Thread

He didn't need to moan last night at all and was lucky to stay on the pitch.

If we had taken our two chances in the first half, I reckon that we could have won the game but alas not...

Nice thing they did at half time for the soldiers though.

Personally I thought it was somewhat inappropriate for half time at a football match, even considering the town's military connection.

Interesting borderline racism too from one of the speakers, saying people should watch Conference football instead of top-flight football as you can pronounce the names on the back of the shirts.

Give him credit - only three were for dissent. The other was for the equally worthy pursuit of kicking the ball away.

Ricketts (who was largely excellent, and surprisingly substituted - was he injured?) did push Elvins, I'm afraid - contact wasn't particularly forceful, but it was more of a spot-kick than Farsley's against us the other week.

Losing away to a side going to the top of the table isn't a massive surprise, and won't matter all that much provided we secure the points we should from the next couple of matches.

Yeah, we were talking about that at the time actually cos we didn't really hear it. We thought it was to do with being closer to the pitch at non league matches.

Sorry JC. Having bothered to read the post properly. It probably was wrong for the announcer to make those remarks.

There was a minutes silence at half time for a guy that died in Iraq or Afghanistan which I felt was appropriate seeing how the guy came from Aldershot.

Then after that there was applause for every soldier in the ground, a lot, just for doing their job.

Hey this guy came back from Iraq, lets give him a clap. And this guy came back from Afghanistan; let’s also give him a clap. And this bloke just completed Call of Duty 3 on the Xbox 360; let’s also give him a clap. I do my job, I get paid; let’s also give me a clap. They do a job, they get paid.

WWII is a different story to modern times.

GROW UP MIKEFLEET!!

On Saturday Luke deserved praise, great run, dive and header for the goal and great ball for Long's goal.

Last night he spent most of his time with his arms stretched out either side of him arguing with the ref, so deserves no praise. Cut it out Luke or you're going to get yourself sent off. Good player in patches but his petulance lets him down.

Interesting then that he couldn't pronounce, or perhaps read, a name of relative ease such as Paul McCarthy whom he called McCartney.

The guy that went down for the penalty has only just finished going down in his final instalment, 24 hours later.

So you would be prepared to say this to the face of a widow or to the children of a soldier who had just been killed in Iraq or Afghanistan?

Sometimes you talk utter sh*t.
