for the fates conspire in irresistable ways

 

was what my old irish granny always said.....

 

so no game tonight....the fa cup tie changed to friday...'tis the way that it has been written and maybe the fates do not conspire...maybe they are watching over us...no game means no more knocks or injuries.....more training time for colin and the boys and players back from previous injuries...no late nights or cost to supporters and players hungry for action.....more supporters and neutrals away from the england footie and rugby games on saturday....

 

friday cometh and I can feel a classic night at the bridge coming on...the smell of the urchinburger...the floodlights glistening on the newly mowed and dampened emerald green carpet....the buzz of both teams arriving and preparing for a big cup game... anticipation in the bar as the magners and the fosters flow and the fans get high on the expectation of it all......excitement in the restaurant as sponsors and officials barter and banter over the steak chips and salad.......an organised calm in the boardroom as blazers and match day officials mingle and compare notes....nothing left to chance all angles covered....

 

around the whole ground in all nooks and crannies the air thick with expectation of glory or dignified defeat...its a real thing...you can bite it...touch it....inhale it...embrace it...

 

I refuse to underestimate DH due to my respect for CE's ability as a manager but by golly...win lose or draw I just know that friday night will be a roller coasting superfantastic emotional ride along the long road of season 07/08.....

 

be there.....you just know that it makes sense........

if we win this one, then we should ban westie from ever attending fa cup games. iirc, he has been there every time we've been knocked out of the thing. at last, we have our scapegoat.

 

really looking forward to this one, have been spreading the word and we should have some extra visitors at the bridge.

 

what time is the bar going to be open, as i may need to soothe my nerves beforehand... i'm getting nervous already.

 

pu - i hear you brother, I LOVE THE FA CUP too. and, what is more, i think the fa cup loves us as well.

In a moment of reverie, I imagined a home win over DH and another home draw for Round 4, also won.

Urchins back in the bag for the 1st Round proper and an away draw at LEEDS UNITED!

Coach loads of Urchins enjoying a big day out at Elland Road, Max leading the singing and Unc wiping an emotional tear from the eye.
