Donny Barnard – defender – Donny was signed in October from Leyton Orient, where he started in their youth team. His first team debut was in 2001/02 and he went on to make 94 plus 46 substitute appearances, scoring one goal. After injuring his knee ligament in February 2007, he did not play again until August, when he went on loan to Grays Athletic, and made four appearances for them in the Conference, before signing for Hornchurch. His Leyton Orient record is -

 

2006/07 – ten – injured knee ligaments in February and did not play again until August

2005/06 – 15+14 sub

2004/05 – 23+12 – one goal

2003/04 – 17+6

2002/03 – 23+9

2001/02 – 6+5

 

TOTAL 90+46

I think the Club may have already checked before signing him.

 

The reports I read on t'internet said that Justin Edinburgh "released him". I don't think you can "release" a player on loan. From the articla below you will see that he did sign for Grays.

Sid - no, he was not released by Grays. They did not renew the loan agreement.

 

 

His Grays appearances this season are - 25th August at Altrincham, 27th August against Histon, 1st Sept at Droylesden, ande 4th Sept at Cambridge Utd.

 

I am a bit confused by the Leyton Orient web site which says he played four times for them this season - I have been right through their reports and cannot find any mention - so I have amended the stats accordingly.

Orient do not normally include pre-season matches in the appearances, and I went all through the cup matches and could not find anything. He was with Grays on loan, so I am guessing that the Orient web site is wrong.

Just spoke to my mate who says he left in the summer and didn't play at all this season.He says he can play both midfield and defence and always gives 100%
