I woke up to this on the EZ this morning, and was genuinely concerned. I know you get mainly rubbish on a MB from any club, but could you read the thread. Billericay carries alot of support with Chelmo fans......

I hope you are just freshening up the squad and all is well. Its only October. Releasing a few players and bringing in a few is a sign of a good manager, and lets face it Matt Jones is one of the best in this league.

If one or two are under performing then time to remind them of a thing or two.

Just had a read of that, and I must say that I am very disappointed that young Selby is stating such things as fact.

 

Let me just clear this up.

 

Dave Wareham has been released, and it was a footballing decision by the Manager, Dave is a talented young man, but his overall game was not meeting our required standard.

 

We started the season with a first team squad of 18 players, we currently have (as I type) 17, the one player down is Rob Swain, he was a young fringe player who had come through our youth setup, he was not happy with sitting on our bench and moved on to gain first team, week in, week out football.

 

There has been no cost cutting, and I do not foresee any cost cutting, Young Mr Selby is making a complete fool of, himself, others, or perhaps both. If, as he claims he has no interest in us, then why post it?

 

And Mr Local, in answer to the question you posed on the soapbox, my loose change jar remains untouched, but I have added a label that reads, 'Break Glass in an emergancey' that way when young selby comes to empty my bins and see's the discarded broken jar, he will have some facts to work with.

I have to make that kind of posting every season, and every season these unfounded rumors stem form Chelmsford, why?

 

Quite frankly its becoming a bit tedious. Change the record chaps, your comments and rumors may be doing some damage, it's not to Billericay though.

I guess you could say the same when you released Fiston Paul? Football is like this, the same could be said of Jolly at AFC or if you want Sherringham from WHU.

Anyway, "if/who/when" bla bla bla - i doubt whether anything will be advised until any such time that "if/who/when" is not just rumour mills of "if/who/when"

Nice to see we've created a lot of interest.

 

According to the thread Dave Wareham has been released and Paul Abbott placed on the transfer list.

 

Lets be honest Dave has barely started a game since he has been at New lodge and Paul Abbout has yet to produce any real quality. Every team must work to a budget, and judging by our poor run of results surely the Management has got to change something. So, i'd presume we release one or 2 squad players to bring in one or two who we hope should be pushing for a starting place, thus improving the squad and staying in the budget. I dont know exactly but im presuming thats how it works.

 

If there is cost cutting (and we've seen it before) why were the floodlights not stitched off straight after tuesdays game?
