Enfield Town FC 1 Aylesbury United 2

A complete Shambles! How many times have i said that recently. It OK saying Charlie was Man of the match, but he let in yet another straighforward goal at the nearpost. But yes, his cross taking and the one-on-one save was top class.

Having Dickie and Magona in the back three will always spell trouble, and so it proved again today.Dickie ended up a virtual left-back again, with Magona trying and failing to sweep large gaps at the back. His challange to give away the penalty was woefull. Some Town fans behind the goal were calling for him to be sent off. When things get that bad,its time for a big change of statergy.Too many players when losing posession let their heads drop and failed to chase back.Currently our play is boring, crude and unimaginative, with only very brief passages of nice interchange breaking up the dross.

I'm abroad and won't get to Brimsdown this season. The only way I keep up with results and "banter", is by reading the website plus this forum.

So what have I seen? 1) Criticism. 2) Stagnation.

What is going on? I don't remember it being like this. This club ALWAYS had a hard core of supporters, who stuck by the team and the manager through thick and thin. Maybe we're going through some thin right now but it all seems quite of proportion to me.

One of two astute signings - up front by the sounds of it - should get us back to winning ways. Keep on supporting and back the team.

I'm just glad I didn't waste £7 plus extras. The rugby was a delight to watch and real entertainment. Washed down with a couple of decent beers (far better than the muck served at Brimmo) I have ahd a good afternoon until I heard about this result. Big changes are needed urgently!

Shambolic, disorganised & pathetic totally woeful, that was pub football at best and thats probaly insulting to the Red Lion first team.

The Aylesbury keeper indeed did not have a save to make & the goal was our only shot on target.

What on earth is going on? Im sorry but that really is enough, JC needs to go, a breath of fresh air with fresh playing staff & ideas is a must before its too late.

One win at home all season & that was a struggle against Ilford, is just wrong.

Paul Campbell didnt look 100% and was very lacklustre, Dave Bastian had his thigh strapped up from the start & didnt look fully fit and they were our wing backs expected to mauraud up & down the flanks!!!!!!

Nay & Georgiou on the bench both looking fit, why did we not play Nay behind Campbell & Bastian behind Georgiou?

Magona absoloutly awful, Kevin Stephens all over the shop as always when in a three, Dickie is a defensive centre back at best & looked clueless at times as to where he should be.

Rudi not in the game at all & in my eyes hasnt been the same since he came back to us from Worthing, ok takes a good pen but what else? and is one of those players that wont ever get dropped or subbed.

Stevie V had an absoloute shocker, his touch, passing & control was just not there at all.

The forward line is lightweight, we have known & seen this for a very long time, Crace, another of a trio still not looking fit needs a "proper" strike partner.

On the bench remains Foster? a known striker, whom has only been seen playing left midfield, why? because Hammatt is another player who is immune to being dropped or subbed.

Why bring these guys in then not use them?

Seriously its embarrasing & becoming a joke.

totally agree gazza!! Nay and georgio both fit and dont play, madness! we need to play 442 and use the wide players.Last ten games last season no team got near us playin 442 with bastian and a good winger in front and nay and campbell on the right. They know each other well and work the right hand side so well together but havnt been given a chance to do it this season, WHY??????

Now you know my pain!

I've been watching George Gregan slaughter the Wallabies for the last 4 years.

The Missing Link.

Where you debate ETFC's structural and selections weaknesses there is a strong parallel with the Wobblies.

Faux aggressive forwards...innefective midfield (george Gregan)and [****!!****] scared unimaginative backs.

Then again anyone who has to stand outside the slow and indecisive GG as he he goes missing from breakdowns in play and then has to cop passes that are hesitant, slow, high and behind them deserves a Vc not the World Cup.

Its no coincidence that Larkham, Giteau and the new boy all wear head gear...they should be wearing my full face helmet.

You guys talk about 'sacred cows' that will never be dropped...look at George Gregan as he winds up a pass.

At the same time its congratulations to England...controlled aggression...playing to a match plan...and a degree of urgency in their game that the Wobblies lack.

Sometimes you would think that the Australians think it is an 80 hour game rather than 80 minutes. There is this complacent attitude that we are 'so good' that by playing an emotionless cool game we will win.

No flair..no fire...no World Cup.(see Argentina for fire and flair).

Bigger shock to see NZ rolled by France.

Interesting to see the Falklands War being replayed should England face Argentina in the Final.

Ahhh!....thats better.

Disappointing result for ETFC...never seen you play but this and recent threads leads me to the conclusion that Jim and Magona have to go!...and take George Gregan with them!

A very low ebb in the club's short history. It's not just the usuals on this forum who have noticed this and it will take a considerable change in 'something' to turn matters around. OK, it's only October, but we are out of two major cup competitions having played poorly and seem devoid of ideas.

We have been given an assurance from the board that the scenes last Tuesday will not be tolerated but it's not the first time that supporters have seen players losing their tempers with each other or our opponents. I thought we had left that behind in the ESL? Something needs to change and fast.

It's all down to the club to sort matters out.

You'd win a golf club duel anyway...based on an incident earlier this year.
On the 18th (Par 3 180m) adjacent to the lake...The Smunt pulls out a 5 wood...tops it..hits grazing duck...breaking it's something...duck in pain...no-one steps up to euthanaze it...The Smunt (a brickie with a soft heart), Smacka (61 and not happy with euthanasia of any description) and Stokes (Stunned) all demur...I step up and grab Stokes' sand wedge...took 3 shots to kill the duck. Dont know if it was stance, grip or bad club selection.
Unaware at the time(and amongst the chaos and shouts of murderer, murderer from Smacka!) that bloke behind us had finished and that he had his 5 year old son in the golf cart.
Had to explain the humane motive behind the duckicide and that it wasn't done in anger after a poor shot.
It will always live in my memory...not the duck killing but the 20 footer downhill putt I holed to par the hole for the first time in about 3 years.
