Slough v Hillingdon

Good cup tie and we just about deserved a replay. It's great the youngsters are getting a go and they can only get better. (It also shows we need a reserve side). I think there was a bit of intent on the Tom Attrell challenge - their no 4 was congratulating the No 2 afterwards. But it did get the supporters and the team going again.

Both the lads are a bit lightweight still but they are willing to take players on. I just wish Lee Charles would shoot as much as Terry does. Anyway, good game and that covered terracing really does make a big difference to atmosphere.

I thought it was a fair result. Still some shaky moments at the back, but Dean Harper in particular impressed me. Barnard pulled off a great double save and a couple of others. Both sides had chances at the end but a good save from their keeper denied Charles when he was put through.

Stanley Mugisha looks promising to me. He does make mistakes but show me a 17-year old, new to senior football, who doesn't. He looked good going forwards but could have got the ball in sooner on occasions.

Attrell also looks like he has potential, but gets shoved off the ball rather a lot ("the boy needs a good meal", to quote a fellow fan from behind the goal). If we can integrate these young players into the first team then I'll be more than happy based on recent performances. Two games unbeaten!

probably best to ask thomas if it was a big deal about nothing.
the six or so rebels fans that were right in front of the incident reacted angrily because they saw it for what itwas a viscious tackele which could have been very serious.the fact is several slough fans actually commented that it was a good goal that hillingdon had scored and it was not really a reaction to conceeding.the players reacted angrily too because of what they saw. good to see slough keep their heads up.

Of course there was intent on the challenge on Tom. Ball already out of play, and did not look like just momentum to me. Having said that it's funny that no one on here has yet said that Mets should have had a red not a yellow for his "afters". Yes he was incensed at the challenge on his team mate, but he had his hands round their guys throat, and kept on trying to take on all comers and using foul and abusive language after being yellow carded. If happened out of ground arrestable? Their guy should have walked, but so should Mets, you can't hide from that one.

must admitt i didnt see mets do that, while not excusing that behaviour i think they were incensed with the tackle, man against boy ,its strange really everyone watches the same game but have different views and assessments of what happens during a game, the ref obviously saw nothing wrong with the challenge to merit any card or even a talking to,

i thought the ref up to that point had a fairly good game, seemed to take the vociferous abuse really well at the end all credit to him.

amusing to see someone say calm down to the slough fans as the officials walked off the pitch.

I said at the time as soon as I saw Mets grab the guy by the throat that he would be off...and was very surprised when he wasn't. Many people around me felt the same thing, we were lucky not to be down to 10 men.

From up there the challenge on Tom did look bad and did look like there was intent in it. Completely unneccesary as the ball was heading for the touchline to go out.

Looking forward to the replay. Going to be interesting to see if wilko sticks with Ellis at right back? looked a bit of a beaten man maybe play somebody else there...? but who...?

A difficult replay as while Hillingdon have yet to win away (except on penalties), they also have yet to lose at home.

With players missing through injury and suspension(?),we may struggle to avoid a hammering. Does anyone know when our injured players are likely to be fit?
