Not the prize money, not the extra game, but the chance to play Horsham YMCA away! Queue the fancy dress if we go through!!

well pi$$ed off i missed the game, some AUNT smashed the window on my car and i had to get it sorted. great result though

Played really well today. Never looked like losing.

 

Defence was very solid apart from a few momentary lapses in the final few minutes but thought Colin Wall, Westy and Jon Stuart were all excellent.

 

All our goals were scored by defenders. Crow must have got a nosebleed for that last goal!!!

It was offside, the officials today were very poor, luckily that did not effect the result.

The officials in this league are not good!!!

Crows goal wasnt offside i thought there was a W&F player on the line

Crow's goal wasn't offside, there was a defender on the far post and the ball was moving backwards.

 

Colin Wall's goal was superb, in off the upright and Westy's volley was excellent as well.

The red number 9 isn't beyond the blue 4 defender but is offside because the goal keeper isn't back. This is one of those rare occasions where goal keeper is out of the goal (e.g. last minute of F.A. Cup final on a corner kick) and can't get back in time but if the attacking team play the ball as they normally would, then it would be offside because the offside rule requires two defenders to be in front the attacker and the goal keeper usually counts as a defender.

Yeah, we said at the time that it should have been offside as the keeper was further up the field that Crow leaving only 1 Wingate player between him and the goal.

Offside, but these things equal themselves up over the season and we have had a few dodgy ones go against us, what was really funny was the lino's reaction, usually they signal goal or move off up the pitch this one froze to the spot for about five seconds. I think he knew but bottled it!

Their ground is next door to Horsham FC. Not sure if we've played them in the past when we worked our way up the Ryman leagues.

 

I doubt we've played Horsham YMCA before.

We played Horsham FC in Isthmian 3 94/95 and Isthmian 2 97/98

I remember Horsham's clubhouse because all the bricks on the inside had engravings on them of those who had participated in their 'buy a brick' scheme and noticed Horsham YMCA was amongst them. That would've been the 97/98 game.

as for who is the best club....subjective... not a statement of fact but I must admit I do miss you all now you are in the lower leagues....hopefully you can get back up....
