Had to go to Bisham Abbey a couple of Sundays ago, so borrowed one of them annoying "turn left" women ! - Well i have come to the conclusion either i just did not listen to her or she took me for a ride - I ended up at a old folks home!

So, anyone out there when going to games been taken for a ride too ? smile

Yeah, when we played Aylesbury somewhere in St Albans in the Trophy a couple of years back, we ended up on a dark country lane miles from any buildings. To be fair, it was probably user error, and luckily we were only a few miles from the ground, so still managed to get there in time for K.O.

Gotta say though that sat navs are a godsend in general.

I got my first sat-nav when i moved to Billericay.

It had the blokes voice-over on it and i was for ever getting lost. (did find some nice spots in Essex which i still have not been able to find my way back to)But then i realised what was wrong!

I changed the setting to the female voice-over and have got to my destination 99.99% of the time.

It's all down to only being able to take orders from the Ladies.

I used mine when we went to Welwyn Garden City the other week, well, when I say I used mine, I mean I decided to use it and the Mrs input the info.

After a few miles I notice that travel times is over four hours, then when we get to harlow I end up in a dead end with the sat nav telling me to turn left, in fact the whole journey was weird, strange roads, narrow lanes, and hours to go when we were quite near.

Next day I take a look at it and find she had it set on...cycle route.

"And I can confirm, Mrs. Clark is well aware of the off side rule as well..."

Then there is money to be made Gazza - organise some seminars, so she can teach it to football officials and footie fans.

SatNav? - call me old fashioned if you like, but still prefer the road map books and signposts. Haven't got lost yet!

The thing is when on the m25 i was coming upto the junction for the m40 - There are 2 turn offs - One going back into London (the first one) and then about quarter mile on the second going to Birmingham....I was waiting for my lady friend to tell me to miss the first turning but all she kept telling me was bear right! So i duly went into the outside lane - then she (typical woman) changed her mind and said bear left...Anyway, the other thing was this "recalculating route" gimmick !! Fat lot of good that done me in the old folks home...There was one of them in and out drives....So, yep the bleedin thing did recalculate so i went round and round - I gave up and asked a pedestrian !

Still, the bonus at the end of the day was to see the England ladies U19's v Denmark U 19's (not the reason we were there mind) smile - So that led me onto another train of thought....Us blokies still wince when the ladies chest the ball...Damn fine standard though...(the game not the chests) ! - I know what you lot were thinking grin

Nice one Keith.

I have the honour to be Chairman of an Under 18's ladies team so I know where you're coming from.

Did you read about the woman from my home town of Dorking that was using sat-nav in Sussex, and when told to take the next turning on the left, did, and drove onto a railway line ?

Makes yer fink, dunnit ?
