All-Time Leading Appearances?

Based on this extract (also from the WHU Floodlight game programme)it seems Steve Bone was at the club from '69ish onwards. I know he was still there in '79 for the 3rd Vase, but I'm not sure how much longer he played?

Based on that stint, he must be a contender in our leading appearances table.

Do the club have records on such things? Is there an all-time appearances table?

I will try and have a chat with Per-Helge on Saturday, although I will probably have minimal time before and after the game as I am supposed to be going to a wedding.

TC, do you know if the club has always kept the teams sheets that are produced? (have these even always been produced?). If not, I guess it's a case of trying to contact the leagues and hope they did - although god knows who has kept the records for defunct leagues such as the Athenian.

Per-Helge does have a quite a bit of information regarding past teams on his website

http://www.btfc.no/news.php.

Mark Kettley was in the process of producing a book. I believe his investigations were hampered a bit by the lack of information regarding past teams and results. His investigations took him to look at an extensive selection of local newspaper reports which did not have the team line ups...

I'm sure there must be some central archive. When was the Essex FA set up. Surely they must have some records...I'll investigate that one out of interest.

These 2 legends are still seen out and about locally.

I remember seeing Freddie playing for Herongate a few years ago when he must have been at least 50 and he still looked the most dangerous playing on the pitch.

Where did you get those figures from Ryan? I've just found this photo. I wonder if that's league appearances you have there?
