Saw it last night on the tv. Hoddle, Souness and Redknapp agreed it was a disgrace. The goalie has been involved with a similar incident before.

Ultamately the keeper was trying to get the game abandoned. In my book he should be banned for as long as the fan will get !

The Milan spokesman kept repeating at the end of the game that it did not affect the result. I think he was embarrassed. They thought that the governing bodies would make a statement on Friday.

I saw it on TV as well and it just typifies all that is wrong with the pro-game. If we ever see Ricay players behaving as embarrassingly as that, then that's the day we might as well all give up and stay indoors and play Subbuteo instead...

subbuteo.....now theres a game from childhood....I had two teams and a roll up pitch ......is it still on sale..!!!!!!.

viewing the dida incident again.....I can not believe he went down so easily...ok the celtic fan was wrong to be on the pitch..but as nitetime says ,this shows what is wrong with the pro game its all about conning the fans and officials....so FIFA should get tough on teams and individual players

Last night Celtic were fined £25,000 but will only need to pay half that as the other half is suspended meaning they only need to pay should the incident be repeated. UEFA are to commended on this as I believe that is a very fair punishment. (it had been mooted that they'd have to play their next Champions League game behind closed doors!).

 

And for the icing on the cake, Dida (who was down for 5 minutes with an ice pack to the face after being hit on the shoulder and then got stretchered off!!!) was banned for two games meaning he'll miss back-to-back games against Shakhtar Donetsk - who incidentally are a superb team and an absolute joy to watch.

 

A good day for football, well done UEFA. (damn that's weird, congratulating UEFA and sticking up for Celtic all in the same post - where's my medication?).

It is a sad day for football that it's top players resort to such pathetic tatics. The FA, UEFA & FIFA should be looking towards their Rugby counterparts as to how players should behave on the field of play.
