Spurs Application a week today

I was at the new application meeting last night and I can confirm that Spurs have no plans for any development of the QE Stadium.

The delegates that represented Tottenham Hotspur confirmed that if successful in there application for the Bulls Cross development, the club will embark on an extensive series of outreach projects working with schools and community groups to promote Spurs in Enfield. They also stated that Enfield residents will be made very welcome at the training academy to watch Spurs Academy teams in action every week!

The Spurs delegates were hounded on a number of issues and there revised plans were shown to have many failings and inaccuracies. They were asked the question about the clubs plans for a potential site in Enfield for a 60,000 seat stadium that was reported in the Guardian and Daily Mail newspapers but the club said this was pure media speculation.

The meeting was very well attended although there were no MPs present.

Can Spurs in Enfield be a good thing for residents and Enfield Town FC? Not in my opinion - Spurs Out!

Surely this was not an appeal hearing as the first application has been withdrawn. This is a new, separate, application.

I can't realy see Spurs training facilities impacting on ETFC and see no need for a fortress mentality. Spurs Youth train at Myddelton already, and for many years the Spurs training ground was next to the A10 in Cheshunt - I idly watched them on several occassions myself (I recall a cracking volley by a young Mark Falco...). This didn't seem to have any effect on the old EFC and Cheshunt FC didn't seem to mind.

I have also been made aware that Spurs NEW application will not include the QEII. I understand that teh SPurs board are very p*ssed off that our local authority did not take the advice of the planning committee that approved the original plans and buckled under the pressure of a few low lifes lke Jose O Ware. Even if this application were to be turned down, Spurs will still win on appeal but ETFC will lose out whichever way.

The only way the QEII will now be developed is if the council decide to take some direct action and start thinking about the site as a community facility that incorporates ETFC (as in the case of Dartford) or if a business comes in. Considering our bl**dy council's track record the latter appears to be the favourite and Bad Egg's conclusion that houses will appear there before long will probably be the outcome.

Yeah that would be right, typical Enfield Council "Oh look someone enjoying themselves playing footie on that lovely piece of land, quick lets stick some houses on it"

The council were compliant in killing off Enfield Football club, and they continue to block any chance of progression for Football in the borough. Those same councilors that wiped Southbury Road off the face of the earth and continue to refuse any offer of hope to those they sold down the river, have also turned the borough (nay TOWN) of Enfield into a Ghetto sh**hole during the last 15 years. The names of those that have damaged our borough and football ambitions beyond repair, will never be fogotten. And Rodin and O'Ware are top of the list of shame.

I'm afraid it now probably looks like houses/a Supermarket or an extention to David LLoyd centre on the QE.

WHY? Because the snivelling council will never spend money on facilities for its local football club, when it runs an annual debt of ten of millions of pounds through mis-managment,incompetence and expensive desire to favour expensive PC nonsence mentality and ignore the interests and concerns of their long term residents.AND because O'Ware will whinge like a baby about any sporting complex being biult on the site, but will suspiciously keep her mouth shut when big business seek to build on the site. She almost single handedly stopped the joint saracens/EFc new ground proposal on the basis that it encrouched into the playing fields by 20 yards, but then said nothing when fairview and the school built on a much larger chunk of the same part of the playing fields.Just as she said nothing when Tescos knacked the flow of traffic down the A10 (300 yards from he shop).Hypocracy,an irrational phobia of sport,or something else.Whos know, but combine her posionous attitude with the spineless plebs at the council, and you get a situation where a succesful football club will never again be allowed to flourish in the borough.

Rodin is still on the council. Southbury road/QE ward has virtually always had a Labour MP.And lets not forget that a Labour governmnet are responsable for major council spending now, just as they were at the time of Southburys demise.Isn't that why we try to court(put up with)Joan Ryan more than we do with the local Tory MP?.Although i agree that the Tories in Enfield are as good as useless as well.
