Website Problems

Recommended Posts

We're having some problems with the BTFC website at the moment.

The long and the short of it is that we have received what I consider to be an entirely unsatisfactory response from the company that hosts the website... so I have decided to move the site to a new hosting company. Unfortunately this is a bit of a job so I won't be able to do it until the weekend.

If one of our admin bods could make it sticky then I'll try and post on this thread to keep you updated. Depending on how you access the site you may need to update your favourites, particularly if you've bookmarked an address that includes www.billericaytownfc.co.uk, but as I said I'll try and post here to keep you informed.

Thank you for your patience.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to give you a quick update... I've uploaded the site to a new hosting company, sorted out the database settings (I hope) and started correcting the links. Tomorrow I will migrate the billericaytownfc.co.uk and btfc.net addresses to the new site where there will be an additional address at billericaytownfc.net. Hopefully this means any bookmarks will not need to be updated. We will see...

Once all this is complete I will add all the missing match reports, update fixture list etc etc.

Nice one.

A couple of points:

1. I went to the site the other day to get the postcode so I could do a satnav route from NL to somewhere else, and I noticed that there isn't a page with the full address.

I know we have directions, but these days a lot of people just want to plug the actual address or postcode into a satnav.

2. Club officials and club phone numbers would be good. My other half wants to phone with a mascot enquiry, but no numbers are given. It's not a big prob, I can just dig out a programme, but it would be useful.

Ultimately, the easier you make it for people to get to the ground or make business enquiries, the better for the club.

Cheers.
