Hear hear, how about a new Coach Company. Mr Safety Officer got the Supporters Mini Bus there in plenty of time and he left 40 minutes later than the Coach. I think these Coaches only know the M25 Route. He even told them not to go M25 would they listen NO!!!

For me,the FA cup and FA trophy are secondary this season.Of course it would be nice to progress in order to collect some prize money and to take good form into league games. Our priority now must be our next 3 league matches. They are vital.Only a minimum of 7 points from our next three games will give us the momentum and belief to challange for promotion this year.More draws/defeats in the coming month, and the challange for promtion could well be over.

I cannot see Town getting out of this league unless there are changes.

I believe that we have a very good squad of players. What we do not have is the ability to knit them together into an effective unit. How did we lose to Hillingdon? Becuase they try hard, work hard and play as a team and play to their strenghts.

Town also need a more effective front line. A front line that you can pump high balls to and we may win some of them against big defenders. Better still, less high balls, get it on the floor on the wing. Why did we sign Foster? As a wing back? As the Rothwell manager said at the replay "He is a striker".

Another wasted season unless matters change very soon.

To be fair.On the five or six occassions that Jim has played Foster up front (pre-season and league),he hasn't really made a strong case of being the new target man that we desperately need.I'm afraid though, that whoever we bring in as a 'Target man/main striker' will be up against it,with regard to convincing Jim to break up Crace/Hammett on a permanent basis.

Jim and the team need to realise the strengths of our current strike partnership. It is NOT heading. It is NOT physical presence. It is NOT pace.So we CANNOT play balls to them that require them to compete in ANY of those areas with opposition defenders.Their stengths as a pair, are natural close range goalscoring ability.Good control.Intelligent football brains.Short passing and interchange...etc.

As such we need to play to their strengths. That means providing genuine midfield width in order to free space for them.It means the central midfielders getting closer to them and joining up more with them.It means giving them more options when they themselves have the ball at feet.It means getting to bye-line more regulary and provided them with accurate low and head-high crosses to the near post/penatly-spot areas, rather launching the ball into the box from deep wide araes. It means more overlapping of full backs/midfielders.Our forwards struggle to TURN defences,so it must be up to other players to turn them and as such create oppotunities that our forwards will finish with ease if giving the chance.

Lovely Stuff - I couldn't have put it better myself. There's nothing wrong with the 2 strikers we have (I'm sure most sides in the league would love to have them playing for them), it's just that we need to start getting the right type of service to them, and getting the midfield closer to them.

They are two strikers of similar ability. BH does the work and lays it off to RC.

As I said BH should be in midfield to get closer to our front two, one of whom should have contrasting skills to RC. Such as height, pace and strength. Ossie Foster perhaps - at least the forward/midfield that I suggest should be given a go as LS said present system is not working.

We have the wide men in PC and MN however neither particularly make a friend of the bye line. Rudi Hall often gets there and a player called Deano used to. Now whatever happened to him?

Absolutely priceless!

Losing a two-goal lead in the first leg was more than careless, losing to that sack of **** (with all due respect to Borough) in a replay was criminal and costly.

What kind of service would Crace or Hammatt prefer? - long balls, or the ball crossed from the bye-line by a winger? Its a no-brainer. The wing-backs formation doesn't work because the players don't know what they're doing and consequently don't end up playing as proper wing-backs.

The current side is frustrating to watch because they have so much potential but consistently fail to deliver.

I want to be entertained by the kind of football I was treated to at Southbury Road. I've had enough of the football currently served-up at Brimsdown, so am going to vote with my feet.

Cross one - goalkeeper flaps at the ball.

Cross two - goalkeeper flaps at the ball.

Cross three - goalkeeper flaps at the ball and ETFC score!!!!

More of the same please for the next 60 minutes and it will be easy.

No!

Let's play kicking the ball down the middle to their players who will kick it back to the feet of their front runners.

From what I could work out, we played 442 on Tuesday, with Campbell and Edmunds out wide. What we didn't do is move the ball quickly and well enough to get them any useful service where they could get to the byeline and be dangerous. It was a poor performance, but with a little more luck, we could have won - even based on how we played, with a couple of shots hitting bodies en-route to goal, the header off the line and the attempted clearance that skimmed the crossbar. One of their goals came from a free kick which in my view never was, and most of their meaningful chances came in the 2nd half when we were throwing bodies forward towards the end.

That said, I'm not saying we played well, as clearly we didn't. We should have put the tie to bed on Saturday, when we did play close to our potential for 80 minutes, and this replay should not have happened. I'm as frustrated as the next person over the last few weeks, but that's no excuse to walk away from the team. I for one will be there week on week to support and encourage the players, it's now, rather than when we're on a good run that we need to pull together and support the club. I think we all realised that it wouldn't be plain sailing all the time supporting Town, although perhaps our wins to games ratio since formation has raised expectations a little too high?

As far as I'm concerned, we should be getting behind the team (whoever is in the starting XI, and even if we think personnel or formation isn't what it should be), get into some kind of form and put these couple of weeks behind us.

Oh yeah, and it needs to be said, that 20 man brawl on Tuesday was a total embarrasment to the club, and we could have easily ended up down to 7 men without too many complaints. It frustrates me as well that all it did was kill more time in the game when we should have been pressing for an equaliser.

Well said Barney. I for one have no intention of walking away becasue of a few poor performances. Having suffered EFC's relegation season in 1989/90 and some of the embarrassments in the early groundsharing years, it'll take far, far more to get rid of me.

I might be in a minority here, but I prefer the team playing 3-5-2. It is a system that Jim has been comfortable with over the years, and we have better wing backs in the squad (Nay, Allen, Campbell, Bastian) than we do wingers for the 4-4-2 system.

I also feel that we need three in midfield, and some of our best football comes when Rudi and Steve V are able to set things up from midfield while backed up by a more defensive-minded midfielder sitting in front of the backline - Stephens, Magona, Nyamah, whoever.

The best football that we have played since leaving the ESL was probably in a 4-3-3 formation in our Southern League season, when the Paul-Hammatt-Ritchie forward line clicked for one glorious month. I know 4-3-3 is a rather old-fashioned formation, but it might be worth a try.
