It's the word "conned" that I take exception to...Players read this forum as well...

Was you conned when we lost 4 zip against Boreham Wood, Bill?

In my opinion, as a supporter, we can all feel "conned", with whatever team the club puts out, if we lose...but we don't, do we?

And BC, one result, does not make a bad season...or a good one for that matter...

I dont think the supporters have a right to know what team the management puts out. After all it doesnt happen in professional football.

Everyone that was there last night and paid full price do probably feel a little hard done by, but with our small squad (already a little light) was it really worth the risk in putting out a full 1st team?

Unfortunatley we arent a Chelmsford or AFC Wimbledona nd cant just go and replace players as and when, so we have to prioritise.

I'd agree that we have no right to know in advanve what team the management puts out. And to answer to Gazza's question, no, I did not feel conned when we lost 4-0 to Boreham wood.

As has been mentioned before we're all in this together and must take the rough with the smooth.

I also accept that Mat had the clubs best interest at heart when naming a squad made up mainly of reservists.

In retrospect I'm probably angry at myself for going to the game with too high expectations. If I'd known in advance the type of squad I'd probably still have paid nine quid; maybe begrudgingly.

Anyway. I'm sure the Sudbury fans thought it was value for money.

on a lighter note...the travelling support from AFC SUDBURY were a credit to their club...if noisy..where did they find that air raid alarm from .....I bet several of our older supporters wondered when the air raid was coming ...especially the old folk in the sheltered accomodation next door

Please bear in mind that IF CCFC were in a position to "go and replace players as and when", I'm sure they would have done so by now in order to fill the gaps left by a couple of long term injuries to key players. The CCFC playing budget is nowhere near the levels stipulated from time to time on here, (and elsewhere).

We found four of them hiding under the stand this morning, they were waiting for the all clear help

Apologies "for going at it" but the admission debate is one of hindsight, in my opinion. If the team had scrapped a 1 zip win, would there still be an arguement. No.

My point was brutal but to the point. We can all make the arguement that, when, whatever team is put out doesn't perform, we can feel conned but don't... Bugger it, we can all name games where we've been disapointed to the point of kicking the cat around the room because we have lost but feeling "conned"? Never.

I could go on but I feel I may offend Bill further and have no wish to do so. Apologies once more for the brutal point of my arguement. I Hope I didn't offend anyone else.

i don't think we were conned ....we were a bit surprised by the players who were picked to play....but we have come to expect over the years whoever plays in the blue shirt to at least give the opposition a game ....last night well it didnt quite happen but there we some good points ...one or two of the reserves looked good ...my worry is ...will this affect their confidence as players ,and will it hinder their progress into the first team

A point that was made last night which I think is quite valid is how does matt assess players who have not played in the 1st team as to if they are up to the standard to be on the bench and act as cover. At present we have good cover up front in fact the 2 who started last night could easily start any game, our mid field is less covered and DW and WS need to play some competitive football to be properly evaluated. In defence we have very little cover so it was worth looking at the reserves back 4 to see if any of them could step up if requied.

The conclusion of this evaluation we will no doubt see over the coming weeks but these type of matches are the only time these assessments can be made. I am sure if we had discovered another whelps nobody would have complained. The entry fee is set by our normal rates as this was a cup game and any surplus after all expenses have been paid are shared by both clubs. Can you see sudbury agreeing to a low entry fee and then the game making a loss just because we want to assess some fringe players. Yes i understand peoples frustrations but the choice is to risk our small squad of regular 1st teamers or sudbury and TC to subsidise you to watch a team of prospective 1st teamers. I must say 200 crowd was a lot more than I had expected on a wet night with european football even f it was boosted by a good number of sudbury souls which just goes to show what a good band of loyal supporters you are and i am sure you will be back on sat to see and cheer the cream put our league title attempt back on course.

I agreed ! This is what the Ressie's are for, the bigger picture, which not all can see !!!

As for the first half, I thought the defence did not put a foot wrong. Full credit to the youngests. Even though Experience got

the better of them, they NEVER gave up, against may I say a top on-form Ryman side. I salute Matt and Co for Seeing the bigger picture.Which is to safe guard the clubs priorities. Promotion !

I accept that people are disappointed, but I cant understand this constant bleating on about it being a reserve side, six first tamers started, yet there have been no complaints about them, no complaints about us progressing reserves into the first team, no complaints about our youth policy.

I don't mind anyone having a moan-up, but at least be honest with your complaints, don't blame our young lads for giving there all, for having ambition, for trying to improve there skills. Make no mistake, AFC Sudbury are a very good side, they would more than hold their own in the Ryman prem.

To lose by three goals is no disgrace, I've already said that from and entertainment perspective the night wasn't good, but neither was the Game V's Borehamwood, I was for more disappointed with that display than I was with Tuesday's. I thought the young lads did well.

So can we get away from slating the youngsters, and lets have a bit of honesty!

Lets take stock here shall we. So the team that was put out was not what most folk were expecting. However, I am with the management on this one. We are a relatively small squad, and thus cannot afford (IMO) the luxury of putting out our perceived strongest squad for each and every game. "If" I was in charge (and just aswell i am not) smile I would have done exactly the same thing. I would not want to risk potential knocks when there is a long long hard season ahead. Remember, at this moment in time we are still in the FA Cup, FA Trophy and vi-ing for as high a finish as we can in the league. It also gave lads who otherwise would not normally play in the first team a chance.

If we had won the game then folk (may) well have leaned more toward the "didnt the fringe lads do well". But we did not, so the obvious thing to do is to complain - That is human nature, and we are all guilty of that many times during our lives.

Football, in many many games is a gamble...And i bet any football management have done a few gambles (to which we will not of known) that has paid off in the past and everyone is a happy bean.

One more scenario. Lets imagine (and it could happen) that 6 first teamers went down with flu and suddenly became unavailable for a league match, meaning reserves needed to be drafted in - no-one would know until just before kick off. The admission price would still be the same.

Finally, just to lighten you all up a tad - I was not present due to being at Thurrock to watch a youth game (vested interest on my behalf) - I paid £12 for 3 drinks in that hotel bar (over double to what i would have paid at New Lodge) as the Thurrock clubhouse was not open!!! See! you got a result afterall smile

Cmon Uuuuu Bluuuuessss
