Ryan.c
Very disappointed with the line-up tonight. Only Jack Buckfield survived from Saturday's starting XI. R.I.P The League Cup
Simon BTFC
looking at some of the other results, it seems we were not the only ones not to take this one seriously... A back 4 from a reserve team that has conceded at more than 3 a game this season was always going to struggle, and although first half we did OK, bad mistakes gifted them 2 second half goals. Burbs looked our best player and went closest at a corner, Boot will obviously benefit from an hour on the pitch and good to see Lay get half an hour. finisterre
Thought Prout looked quite good. Has George Lay played many games for the reserves since coming back?

The Town Crier
A disappointing result. We are an entertainment venue, and although there were 6 first team squad starting, the entertainment on view tonight was poor. Normal service will be resumed on Saturday. on a positive note, I was pleased to see George with a first team shirt on
GazzaBTFC
Really, what sort of team were we expecting? While we are in the F A Cup and consider our leeague chances seriously, we were never going to go out with a full first team, with the squad the size that it is and the injuries we have picked up this season. Congratulations to AFC Sudbury. I take it that they are top of Ryman one, so we may get to put last nights result right next season, should we not get promoted this season...and they continue their form. Rick the Dick
It's a conundrum isn't it. People are happy to put their hand in their pocket for all the little extras like programmes, raffle tickets etc.. and occasionaly throw some change in a bucket or whatever. But charge £9 full price for entry and people expect to see a first team on the pitch. I guess no one likes to feel they've been mugged. Even if the "mugging" was unintentional. I'll have to look on it as an investment that will be re-payed with interest over the next couple of weeks
GazzaBTFC
I suppose the dissapointment of losing manifests itself in many ways... I don't think people would've made the same comments if we had won...by any means. But as said, it's an entertainment business... And I'm sure Saturday will be better. I don't think we mugged anyone, intentionally or otherwise, although I accept some will disagree. Had we won, I doubt there would have been the same comments. As a spectator, which I am, I wanted to see a stronger team on the night, but when I look from the Managers perspective, then I fully understand and agree with his selection. It's an interesting subject (well I think so) and there was considerable debate, and differing views, being discussed last night. So much so that it has prompted me to write Saturdays program. Cherry Blue
I think it is a shame that we dont want to go out and win the League Cup. A pot is a pot after all and we havn't won too many over the last 20 years or so Will the first team play in the Reserve's league cup fixture ? Ryan.c
I guess that last night will be one of those 'in hindsight' decisions. Win the next 3 and it'll be brushed under the carpet, lose the next 3 however and the pressure mounts. As an aside, I think the Isthmian League should make clubs play at least 7 of the starting XI that played the previous league game. That way, the competition maintains credability and the supporter who hands over his hard earned dough, knows roughly what to expect.
The Town Crier
hahaha, good spot. Can I just clarify, I won't be writing the whole program, just a few words on Tuesdays team selection. Given my written English skills it would take me about a month to write the whole thing.

Ah yes - but if the previous league game was v ETU or Heybridge, there may not be 7 available Ryan!
jg90
Very poor defending IMO last night not much that could be done with the first goal as it was a good one two followed by a great cross. Buckfield didnt do too bad considering he is still only 17, looke dlike bambi on ice on some goalkicks but through no fault of his own as it was very wet out there. Bill of Shenfield
I was going to write on here last night but decided to wait till today, so that my anger had faded. A very poor evening, not only did I like many people feel conned by having to pay full price for what was basically a reserve team fixture; the standard of this team was awful. I would be grateful if we could be warned in future of this so that we can decide whether to use our hard earned money on this rubbish. The forwards had very little service and I felt sorry for Jack as he tried his best but the defence was non-existent. I did not even have a half time cup of tea as that is a big con, £1 is extortionate. I used to get twice as much for 50p at Benjy’s.
