They ain't the force they were last season with no Redford or Cooper playing! Cooper injured and Redford being saved for the Oldies game on Sunday!

Any of the Bury boys want to elaborate how a Div 2 side held them to 0-0 at home through 120 minutes? Was going to pop over after training but thought it was a formality!

they are better than some of the sides in the prem, we should have beaten them in normal time but missed a few chances. we played really poor last night but managed to get through as we are extra time and pen specialist.

AFC Dunstable are undoubtedly a Division One side, after all they won the Division Two title last season and barring floodlights would have been promoted. I am sure the top 2-3 of Div 2 are a lot stronger than the bottom 2-3 of Div 1 and perhaps a lot more teams as well.

.. and because of the FA rule about not taking on a groundshare to achieve promotion..

Yes. At the AGM, the league management committe actually allowed a vote as to whether they could be promoted if they played there, but it was lost heavilly.

If AFC really meant it, they would have gone ahead with the groundshare with aview to promotion this season, but I don't think they have.

I would have thought that it would have been prudent for them to have gone ahead with the groundshare as well Horace, presuming that should they finish in the top two they would get promoted if they did, or would it have to go to a vote again?

I wonder why they got turned down and would any one have gone in the opposite direction or would Div 2 been left with 14 teams (or even 13 as didn't Kings Langley do the same thing?)

To be fair it is quite clear. You need to be at the ground a season before you are promoted and not arrange a ground just to get promotion.

Neither had, from what I understand, so neither were promoted!

If neither club has moved into the grounds they said they would if they got promotion, it shows that the league members got it right!

It seems obvious to me that the two clubs in question weren't serious about their intentions!

SLB moved to Hanwell Town the season before already with that in mind. They should do the same!
