Slough Town 3-1 Bracknell

Fairly comfortable in the end, but we made hard work of it against a poor Bracknell side.

First-half we pretty much had control of. Charles netted from close range then Davies slid home a Jefferies cross.

Second-half we started slowly and looked lacking confidence as they bundled one in.

They could have equalised by a good save by our goalkeeper who was making his debut (I think he was from Slough Juniors as well) kept them out.

Jefferies then wrapped up the points.

Should do the lads confience good, although it could have been more, but onwards and upwards!

Keeper was Alex Tuttle, I thought he did bloody well for a youngster on debut. Three points was everything hope we can bring some confidence into Saturday's game. I'll be missing this one so come on Rebels.

Decent performance which did the job in the end. Hopefully this will inspire the confidence in the team and fans for the trophy match and the follow up league game next Saturday.

Good all round game, all the players played well, but it was hard work.

Good result, was one of those games that I'm not sure the result was in too much doubt (although we all worried!) but we made hard work of it.

Agree the keeper had a good game, a couple of little scares with collecting the ball, but some good saves and good reading of the game. Don't think there was really any MOTM just a good confidence boosting battling performance from all.

Lets hope we can build on it, I think its fair to say there is no way Bracknell are staying in the league tho!

Great confidence boaster and great to hear the crowdin good voice, we came out fired up in the first 20 minutes and put the game to bed against a young and inexperienced bracknell.

Very impressed with the young keeper kept it 2-1 when there player was clear through. Was also impressed with John Ellis at right back first real look at him at he seems to show a lot of heart which could be needed.

Come on the rebels...!!

The attendance was 165 according to the Southern League site, the 3rd highest in the league this evening apparently.

The win keeps us in 3rd from bottom spot, but we are now 5 points off the bottom two.

Can't remember when we last won by 2 clear goals in a competitive game (did we beat 'Ricay 2-0 last October?), or when we last had 3 different goalscorers in a game?

On another note, hopefully the player who went off in the ambulance's injury wasn't too bad.

The three points were always the most important thing tonight. I think we will need to play better to gain some momentum, but a win's a win and it's promising. Shame more people weren't there to see it but hopefully we can build on this. Well done Rebels and let's have some more of the same.

On tonight's evidence, Bracknell will remain one of the favourites for the drop. Meanwhile, the other strugglers, Newport IOW were spanked 3-6 at home by Abingdon tonight.

Deserved the win and played well in parts.

Thought Tuttle had a good game in goal and will surely get better. It was good to see the support and encouragement the youngsters were getting from the more experienced players.

The defence certainly looked more solid. Think the lack of Daly helps at the back although I'm sure Wilko doesn't want to play there all season. Woody had another good game and made some important tackles. Deano also played better than I've seen before.

Roddis also controls things very well from the sidelines. Good eye for what is going on.

I wasn't totally convinced by the performance, but we got the 3 points which was the main thing. Thought the number 2, Ellis, played well, and the new 7 (Stanley) showed some good touches when going forward as well, even if he was unsure of his role (the bench kept telling him to mark back). Anyone know anything about him?

Don't you mean the lack of Daly 'doesn't help at the back'.

Good first half but it seemed like 11 different players in the second half and almost let the poorest team I've seen so far back into the game.

Goalie did ok. The main question mark against him was his kicking. He was kicking from his hands, which barely reached the half-way line but didn't kick any deadballs, perhaps he's carrying an injury?

On Dean Harper, I think he does ok in the air but imo he's a bit on the slow side and tends to gets turned too easily and beaten too easily when someone runs at him.
