Haven't made much of an effort to check for certain but it's pretty likely that Robbie Summers made a bit of history last night - longest gap between first team appearances by an outfield player. Last appeared April 1996 as sub and his last full appearance was October 1995.

In actual fact, if you look at expenses of staging the games against attendances, I wouldn't be surprised if the teams that are knocked out sooner stand to gain the most .... by losing the least!

Unless a miracle happens and someone can be bothered to sponser this competition (which probably isn't much more then £1.49) i reckon they will knock the competition on the head next season, there was talk before the start of the season they were going to pull it.

Maybe we should be grateful then to the likes of Ryman who sponser the league itself. (am i right that this is their last season sponsering the league itself-another good reason to get out of the league this season if we possibly can !!)

Without sounding like a complete anorak, what sort of formation did we line up in last night-i.e who played where.

Haworth - Watson

 

Young I think came on for Hindley and went to centre back with Smith switching to right back. Moir came on as a straight swap for Watson - Moir's preferred position I understand. And Vanhinsbergh was brought on in his favoured left wing position when Axon was subbed off. Unfortunate for Axon to have to play on the left wing, but I guess Trotty wanted a look at Peters.
