Hitchin. Remember the problems between them and now defunct Baldock?

Under our tennantship the old Baldock ground has undergone a total refurbishmen.

A joint financing between North Herts College and a number of grants the pitch has the latest all weather pitch for training and games. A new Information Tech centre has also been built as a part of the overall development which is used by schools and colleges etc.

I should add the we at Hitchin have not contributed to any of the cost (like Margate we have no money)but as tennants we run and control all the activites there.

As an oldie, I watched our under 19's play a league match there yesterday afternoon.

Briefly referred to in the report, the ground was owned by a very old Quaker organisation and is managed by an equally old charity group called the Cow Commoners from whom the ground is rented.

The lease has about 5 years to run, it will be very interesing/worrying time for Hitchin fans as the expiry date approaches.
