Billericay Town players playing Sunday League

Recommended Posts

I am the manager of Lokomotiv Billericay, a season ticket holder at New lodge and also a very good mate of George. These past 2 years George has been trying to come back from a very serious injury and I have seen 1st hand what he has gone through. All George wants to do is play football and as a mate of his I want to help him as much as I can. I made sure before I registered him with my club that it was ok with the blues management because as a supporter of Ricay I don't want to ruffle any feathers there. They gave him the ok to play to get match fitness so I am glad to help George and the club out if i can.

Kaiser,if a player is getting paid for playing football on a saturday then he should pay only for that team.I wouldn't want my star striker getting injured for the dog and duck and then missing out on (for example) an Fa cup tie where the winners could face big money opposition,or playing before an important league game. When there are paying fans then the player should play just for that club unless the clubs managment say its ok

Maybe so, but its up to the individual really.

I know that if I get injured / suspended, I lose my place in the team, and will suffer the consequences.

Last season, I got sent off twice in two weeks for my Sunday side and was banned for 21 days total. Not ideal, but it happens.

I'm a Sunday League ref and see non league players playing for quite a few teams (even a football league player this pre season). At the end of the day these lads, just like most people, just love a game of football. I suppose it can be a risk, but it can also help to keep players sharp.
