u18s v Faversham

A far better day for football did little to help Gates u18 side. Getting off to a reasonable start Margate played the better football and made a couple of half chances. However, after 20 minutes Faversham lifted their game as Margate were no threat in the final quarter and at half time the prospect of not scoring seemed on. Second half and Margate still could not make anything against a team who have already let in 16 in four. Things got worse when Faversham went one up after 55 mins. Minutes passed before the management made a change and heads lifted. Taking just minutes the sub put the gate back in the game 1 - 1. Sadly the handfull of chances that came Margates way were not finished and although Margate finished the stronger they had to be happy with a point. As last week sending a player on when you are behind and expecting them to win the game is questionable, see below. My MOTM, Dan Hughes.

Having watch several games now its seems that the Gate rely heavily on dead ball situations to score.

To answer the question asked by some, it`s because he went out drinking Saturday night and did`nt turn up at H P until 10 today. I`ve heard there`s an u18s game Thursday night. Sounds like a Cup game.
