Well I was the fat bloke with the glassess last season but I lost wieght....Now slim and sexy...still got the glassess tho (well, I'm so short sighted I need 'em to pull.....no, too much information for this site - lol).

After that opening quip, what is going on........and I'm well liked by the Canvey supporters (oh dear, wot will my fellow 'Ricay supporters think!!!!!).

Just a little observation...Canvey are 2nd in the league now.....right? All this crowing and abuse wouldn't be linked to that lofty position, would it? Don't seem to remember you all visiting this forum earlier this season when you were struggling...hmmmmmm?

Mobrein - as pointed out in Mr. Harrys post, most of the problems lies with Basildon Council. Unfortunatly, and I feel the same, the residents of the fair town of Billericay feel that they get screwed through the council tax and charges levied by that council. And therefore bitterness (which has festered for a long time) is overflowing, especially when we heard that our club was going to move there (another Basildon conspiracy? - maybe Moulder and Scully could get involved).

I welcome (unlike some other people) your earlier comments re. the stadium and as a resident of Basildon (I take it you are from the comments on the site) you are concerned and so you should be. What ever happens there will be change. But, before I thought you were putting over a valid point, now I think you are just winding us up and deserve the (sadly) strong abuse you are getting. I would suggest that your continuing to put this point over is tempered by your teams success at the moment as well.........see 3rd paragraph. All designed to induce banter.

As for Billericay, the people like it there who live there...Green fields (especially as you look over the Hutton Valley from the "Cow Shed" - nice), a small community etc., etc....Yes it would be nice to have more facilities but hey, the screw Billericay over councillers who sit in their lofty towers deciede otherwise (OOOOO, I wonder where this lofty tower is?). There are those that value the simple life then have a concrete jungle filled with mega stores and the such. And anyway, those who wish to visit your New Town (I believe that is what it was supposed to be when built) can shop there as I am sure there is no need for passports...yet. The facilities (parking and otherwise are good) and it is only 10 - 15 minutes drive from where I live. A nice distance.

To those Canvey supporters who think their ground is great!!!! - Check out your rose coloured glasses please. Whereas New Lodge is not up there with the likes of some grounds, neither is yours. I would love to say "[censored] hole" (ooooopppppssss, I did, sorry) but do not wish to lose this "nice tag" that your fellow supporter has given me). Conference grading.......hmmmmmm, sorry but I would put the people who graded your ground in the same "lot" as Basildon councellors...Unless, of course they were grading the beach - sorry, cheap shot but couldn't resist.

To those 'Ricay supporters who say Basildon is a "[****!!****] hole" - that was it, wasn't it? I believe we have some supporters who live there and quite like it as well...Housing is affordable (check out the house prices and compare), loads of facilities (okay made my point about screwing Billericay over for 'em) blah, blah, blah. I know that they are reasonable chaps and would imagine they would take all our rantings with a pinch of salt, but they do live there. Maybe, a line would be, "The council is [****!!****], the place is okay and I wouldn't live there myself" would be best. I know, I know that the plans for the new stadium going to Basildon is the last straw and like yourselves, I am concerned but I am told that it has gone to an inquiry, so will it happen? Until I hear of more solid plans I shall wait, watch, bite my fingernails and hope that some sense will prevail (with a bit of reasoned debate from myself and others).

Now, can anyone tell me if this is a serious peice of writing or am I taking the piss to gain a few smiles.....???????????

As much as I enjoy the leg pull (or stroke) I feel that the Basilricay situation is more about people much nearer your home who are the weight on your legs

So what if you move to Basildon? all change is damaging and you would become a 100% different club in atmosphere etc but you would survive

More to the point is why your support fails to make a bigger noise reference the repeat scene for the past few years of mid to two thirds of the season and the money runs out or there is some other piece of political wrangling and the bottom falls out of the season

There are clubs would love your set-up and more importantly your potential to pull a crowd

Why do you accept the same or similar story year on year, forget other clubs you are grossly under performing
