jasonhiggins
Hi Wader, No problem and more than happy to help clarify anything. A few points here so I hope I get them all but most of these are constitutional issues, so... Sorry about the T&Cs but we needed to be sure it was not sold as an investment offering (which has FSA and other legal implications) and that membership was as clearly laid out as possible at this stage. Constitutionally (items that are ring fenced and cannot be changed by members voting), members cannot incur debts on behalf of the club at any time and there is certainly no possibility of liability transfer between trust and membership. All records of all votes are held in the database and, post decision / match, will be available as part of the archives. Voting itself does not generate revenue but lack of transparency would kill it immediately - who would renew membership if they felt it was being manipulated? Not me for a start. The target of the Conference is a very big one but we need ambition for the club and membership. Interestingly, my "home club" when growing up was Histon FC - now they have completed a similar task in a similar time frame. It is very difficult to do but with 5000 new members, minimum doubling of turnover and additional commercial opportunities it is a possibility. As a side issue, and being unaware of the politics of the past, I happen to think strong positive links with BTFC would be very good for both parties in the future but I realise this view may not be shared. Robbie - no problem, just get them in next time. I will be there on Sat as we have the "official launch" happening on the day. MP Alistair Burt will be there as well so best behaviour (and a really strong win please!). Photographs are being done for the national papers etc.

Histon certainly had a good business plan and a great community to achieve with. Having been involved with several clubs at different levels including The Conference I know how difficult that is to achieve. Sensibly weighted ambition is so important, but nonetheless I look forward to playing you in Conf National some day, however utterly remote that may seem today. Wader
How prophetic Horace. You'll just have to wait and see.
Football Man
Seems like Ebbsfleet United have beaten Biggleswade United to it! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/g/gravesend_and_northfleet/7089473.stm
Wader
FM - different type of 'internet franchise' in that members put their money in and then decided on a club to buy. Ebbsfleet being the chosen club after detailed dossiers on quite a few were looked at. First vote there should be to change that bl00dy silly name back to Gravesend & Northfleet. Rhodes
I received the Bulletin this morning and would just like to give Biggleswade United prior warning that Mr Panayotiou is doing their game against Leverstock Green on 12 January
Football Man
Are you suggesting that Wendy James is incapable of reading the League Bulletin? I can see no other reason for posting something as irrelevant as that.

Rhodes
How come Mick Ewen gave you a game in Biggleswade of all places, they are going to have to remortgage Second Meadow to pay your expenses. I see that you're also on Colney Heath v Oxhey Jets on 5 January, Hanwell Town v Cockfosters on 19 January and St Margaretsbury v Kingsbury London Tigers on 26 January

Horace
Rhodes, you are clearly trying to provoke an official of the SSMFL, which once again shows what a nasty piece of work you are! Bah Humbug!
Rhodes
Horace - I was just warning off Biggleswade United, Leverstock Green, Colney Heath, Oxhey Jets, Hanwell Town, Cockfosters, St Margaretsbury and Kingsbury London Tigers that's all as if any of those teams happen to play with an offside trap they may as well dispense with it for that particular game
Horace
Offside traps seem to be peculiar to Division One sides! Hoddesdon tried that last night!
