AWK
Just come across this, did anyone else know about it, presumably RobbieO does? http://www.bedsonsunday.com/bedsonsunday%2Dsport/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=139494 http://www.mybufc.com/
Horace
Fascinating! Apart from the fact that I've never known a Beds on Sunday story to be accurate, it looks good.
AWK
Certainly is fascinating Horace, its very much a non league version of myfootballclub and it will be interesting to see how many sign up to it and if they reach 5000 how feasible it is to run a club this way. Has a hint of a scam about it! Presumably until 5,000 have paid, it's just money for jam?
AWK
Well the site says if their target figure of 5,000 isn't met they will either decide to proceed with the amount they already have or to refund the money to all those who have paid. Horace
Fair enough!
StevieG.
What a joke! It'l never work, shareholders in the club maybe but try keeping players happy with what they propose...and 5000 people, you wont even get half that For 23.50 you could get championship manager and run your very own team, leaving computer games where they should stay.... On the computer
Wader
No disrespect here to Bigg Utd at all, but the bit that worried me the most and should give the greatest concern to any would be investor or 'virtual' owner, was the ubiquitous 'We aim to be in the Blue Square Premier in 5 years' bit. Sorry, but how many times in football have I heard that kind of unrealistic, ludicrous and sensationalist poppycock over the years.
StevieG.
Wader whats up with the Biggleswade Town website? Doesnt seem to have been updated plus none of the links were working?
Wader
My super-duper new fangled computer had to go back to the manufacturer for important upgrades - like making it actually work! Normal service should be resumed shortly and a video camera has been purchased so that filming of games can start once the new ground is open and highlights (I will edit out the inevitable lowlights in a completely biased fashion) posted on there. Also, the club ban on the Biggleswade Chronicle may be coming to an end. I require an e.mail of clarification from The Editor on a minor point and they should be back in for Saturday against The Manor.
StevieG.
good news all round, thanks!
Manorborn100
Wader will you be in attendance on Saturday? (preferably without video camera)
Lato
Was just going to ask the same question myself MB100 as I believe we should both be in attendance and Watford are away so Spider may join us. And as you pointed out Haringey are playing Bedford Town reserves the same afternoon. A certain person could really be busy with phone answering whilst ironing scenarios! Wader
I'll be there. (Have only missed one match and that was last Saturday) and you are of course welcome. I will make no claims about our hospitality as it is not our own ground. We make use of what we can, but cold sarnies and cake is about as good as it gets until we can get into the new stadium. My missus had to do the bar last home game and she won't be there this weekend, so me and a couple of others will probably muck in.
Lato
Look forward to meeting you Wader. Just hope the weather is good. Every time I have visited McMullen Park it always seems to have been blowing a gale.
Rhodes
Originally Posted By: Lato And as you pointed out Haringey are playing Bedford Town reserves the same afternoon I think you'll find that your paths won't cross as although the grounds are next to each other Haringey will be busy with their game and you will be busy with yours. Having said that watch out for a flash porsche in the car park as you know who it will belong to, that's if he's not taking his son to cricket practice. Rhodes
I see that Robbie O'Dell scored the only goal at Leverstock Green yesterday: http://www.levgreenfc.co.uk/mr20071006.htm
