Yep, lost 3-0 with two goals from Anaclet Odhiambo who did not do well for us, but in the first-half we made him look like Thierry Henry!

They went ahead with their first shot of the match an Odhiambo effort from the edge of the area.

We then get two chances. First Charles put clean through on goal and he tries to pass instead of shoot, theh the same player tries to take the ball down after a good ball into the box, when he should have headed for goal.

Soon after they add a second and then we are all over the place for the rest of the half.

Second half we play better, but the game was already won. They could have added a couple more, and we could have scored as well through a Dean Harper header but their keeper saved.

To sum it up we were not good enough and this was with near enough our first choice starting line-up.

On another note lots of ex Rebels today. Odhiambo, Alexis starting for them with Brooks and Carbon coming on from the bench. Denton and Mickey Lewis watching as were ex Rebels Daryl Harris and Gareth McCleary.

Team: Barnard, Harper, Daly, Browne (Ellis 30 mins), Woodruffe (Attrell 75), Jefferies, Roddis, Metcalfe, Murphy, Davies, Charles.

Yep, that about sums it up. I had the 'advantage' of standing behind our goal during the first half. It became very obvious that we are too slow, disorganised and have no confidence whatsoever. Heads dropped visibly after 3 minutes when they scored.

Standing behind our goal I witnessed disagreements about who was marking who, who was covering the post (nobody in one case) and generally their inability to stop the Abingdon players (organised, hardworking but limited in ability to be honest) getting through every time they attacked. It should have been five minimum or ten if they'd been any good.

And we were watched my Eddie Denton and Mickey Lewis. Blimey we so need Mickey lewis at present as its clear that whatever is going on at training is totally ineffective. Something HAS to change, and change quickly.

We only played better bcos Abingdon took their foot off the gas, and even during the second half Abingdon were way the better team.

Todays performance was a shambles: disorganised and disinterested
players with no apparent tactics. It seems that only 5 players from the first team squad bothered to turn up for training on Thursday night, so perhaps the performance should come as no surprise. Totally unnacceptable, and time to kick ass big time. If players can't be bothered to train, get rid of them.

Terrible, the only word that can be used to describe today. First half was compeltely awful, only one or two chances for us, second half better but still disappointing. I thought that the only one who looked really interested was Lee Charles, but his decision making and lack of shooting made his performance still pretty average, because he has good control and got round the back quite a lot. Ellis and Atrell looked good when they came on, and Miller gave his usual display of effort, but other than that it was extremely poor.

Once again we have made an average team look good, they were much better organised and more disciplined than we were. I was cautiously optimistic when I read the team sheet before the game, the only other names I can think of that would go into the 16 would be Moleski and Bizon.

We really need 3 points from Tuesday now.

But what happens on the pitch does not matter - the important thing is getting a new ground sorted out.......Darren has Roys backing, as was stated at the meeting.......The budget is in place, although it is about £200 less than last year.......Martyn Deaner is the best thing since sliced bread/it was all Martyn Deaners fault........

You could not make it up!

Thought Ellis battled hard and at least looked dejected sitting on the turf after the game!! Maybe the rest need some heart aswell. Good team on paper but a midfield with a combined age of 60 +!! not good really is it.

They are certainly up to more than arguing at corners over who is covering the post. Those sort of things MUST be sorted out on the training ground. If not, you have to question what the hell they do practice. This is BASIC stuff that they coach to ten year olds.

We were beaten again by a team that was not particularly good - just organised.

can't help feel totally depressed after today !

Yes things are crazy .we have a team on paper that should have performed much much better ...the club is trying its level best to support the team ... we must have had over 100 slough people there today ..incrediable...and sorry to say its was terrible ...no getting away with it..we have to as a club sit down with Darren and Roy and sort something out before its to late...(FACT)

Now a few supporters are raking up the fact that Roy stated that we have to sort things out off the pitch and maybe should have not stated things on the pitch to take second fiddle...I think it was not meant in the context ..that some are now stating in the posts...of course both need to addressed , but just for once Roy has had to consentrate on offield matters , but some have taken this as signal to have a go again...I thought we are working together and we are surely you know we are going to have to sort the on field problems ...too....(fact) so less of the wise cracks and please see the whole picture before trying to make cracks in a very fragile situation.., but the future may at least for the time being look a little brighter off the pitch..

lets stick with it...I knows its terrible to see things going the way they are on the pitch....it hurts me too....

It seems to be a recurring theme for the season...being beaten by teams which are average, but which are so much more organised than us. On paper we have a good squad, but it is currently a group of individuals who cannot play together.

If we can get the players playing as a team more regularly (because there have been good signs at times eg against Taunton and Gosport and Andover) then we will be able to beat the majority of teams in this league.

Also we need to keep the mouths shut of certain players who feel the need to constantly moan, because it is not going to help!

I stated at the begining of September that dramatic changes were needed and that is now being recognised.

We are out of 2 cups and 3rd from bottom, and there is a very high chance that if performances continue as they did today that we will be relegared again!

Totally agree with Ian - if only they put the effort into playing as they did arguing!

A number of people are stating that we have 'a good team on paper'. I cannot agree with this. I would keep maybe 3 of the current squad, 4 at a push, get some younger players in, and have a complete overhaul of the rest as they frankly are not good enough and/or past it. We cannot go on like this as it is painful and soul-destroying to see us fall further and further. Heaven only knows what sort of 'crowd' will flock to Holloways Park on Tuesday evening now.
