In my view, today's match was the proverbial game of two halves.

 

Fleet dominated the first and despite a diabolical refereeing decision to give a penalty to Farsley, which amazed everybody, Fleet should have gone in at the interval with comfortable lead. In the second half Farsley, to their credit, made a game of it and could, with a some luck, have taken the lead; hitting the bar and having one or two off-side harsh decisions going against them. However, with all that said, Fleet could have also taken the points too and given the travel nightmare beforehand, which must have impacted massively and can't be under-estimated, then I think today’s performance was sound.

 

Most people I spoke to agreed Fleet looked a more all-round accomplished team than the opposition and heard personally via; Bryn Law (Sky TV commentator/reporter) that Lee Sinott (Farsley Manager) acknowledges his teams defensive frailties. However, when all is said and done, a draw was a fair result.

I woul like to thank Matty at The Jug And Barrel for his hospitatlity. He made an awesome Chilli for us after the game and a good selection of sandwichs before. If anyone else is visiting that way , then give him a call before hand , and you will find a friendly pub , secure parking all less then 5 minutes walk from the ground
