In summary, Roy talked about what has been going on behind the scenes over the last 12 months, in terms of working with the council to find a proposed site for a football/community stadium within Slough, and spoke about the progress that has been made since then. He introduced Jayne Bradbury to the meeting who has been working with the club on the project and togther they gave a positive impression of where the club is with negotiations.

Nothing is signed or sealed yet, but this was a positive meeting and a welcome change for Roy to be so candid with the supporters. Ben Page from the Observer was there too, so expect a more detailed report in his paper next week

From what I remember, Jayne Bradbury is an experienced project manager who works in development. The cost of the site was not mentioned and is probably something that is being negotiated at the moment with the council. Jayne Bradbury indicated that she had the financial clout to purchase the site so long as the building of a football stadium was written into the agreement.

The funding side of things was mentioned, with a small block of residential flats and a hotel of sorts being part of the equation. Specific details were not gone into detail but as the proposals are under consideration with the council officers, these would not go public just yet.

Given we've had hopes dashed in the past it is probably right to be sceptical until we see the first foundation blocks being laid, but my perception from this meeting was that this stadium proposal has good backing, there is good and regular dialogue with the Council and that the plans for the site are a lot less controversial than the schemes that Mr Deaner may have favoured in the past. But we'll have to see what comes to fruition

One thing that I thought of when I got home was - who now legaly owns Slough Town FC?

Deaner has gone, Thames Valley Sport & Liesure ltd has not traded offically according to companies house(their site states the company is dormant and accounts are now a year overdue) and FRUS has been disolved.

Roy mentioned he was given the option of taking on the club as TVSL Ltd so has this happened or who is the new owner?

Otherwise it was a very promising meeting.

Would it be an idea that while there are solicitors doing various bits relating to this proposal to have a quasi-legal document created so that supporters can commit to providing an amount (£10 or £20 - whatever people can afford) per week towards the playing budget for a set amount of time (i.e. season-by-season)?

I'm not sure if this has been put forward before, but I believe other clubs (Harrow?) do things along similar lines.

Ideally you'd want around a hundred people to do this (not sure how many would) to provide a decent total...

Not sure of some of the mechanics (i.e. direct debit admin costs etc), and this isn't an original idea, but is it worth getting a feel for how many would be prepared to do this?

Thoughts.....?

PS. I say "quasi-legal" as it might help to reassure people that the money is going to the right place from the supporters side and from the club's side provide some assurance that the money is going to be there for the stated period and it can be budgeted against...

Still no answers to who now owns Slough Town FC?

It goes to show we can all attend the same meeting and hear different things. I recall Roy saying that the budget had been cut, but by less than £200. Was I mistaken?

Ted was right ...very small cuts , only because Darren had not fully worked to the imaginary budget offerred by MD ...so its been a few changes and with player not showing up so far has helped.

to answer the question set by Clive (SR) TVSS own STFC ..roy said that last night..and no accounts have been declared, but rest assurred that this is in hand with the Chairman of TVSS Bernard Devine ..I have seen the accounts from last year and they need to be finalised and presented.

And before we start a debate why has he not been around ? its because of the MD connection and he wanted like a lot of supporters not to deal with MD ... Bernard for his part will be and has been important behind the scenes to ensure we played football this season.

so please can we now really work together and as ian warner quoted we need to help raise some extra cash to ensure those players loyal to STFC are paid in full and on time.

together we will succeed... cheers chris sliski

This is all very exciting news, although i understand why people are still weary after the Kennedy Park situation.

I really hope that the ground can become something a bit special rather some of the new meccano-looking efforts we've seen on our travels. Let's visit places like Dartford and see what can be done.

As for funding, we should be able to get a large proportion of it paid for by the Football Foundation and there must be grants available to make the places 'carbon neutral'.

Infact a wind turbine, powered by the hot air on this forum would be a good start.
