Football, ......but not as we know it .

Steph said - I trust that those who suggested that Andy Edmunds should get a full 90 minutes will keep their traps shut in future. His body language was all wrong, as if he didn't really want to play.

Surely you don't believe people take our postings seriously, do you Steph?

Andy Edmunds was running all over the place in the first half yet played behind the front two after the break. He was dropping further and further back and out of position. Why?

I think we were lucky to lose by only one goal last night. Edgware were yards faster and looked the much better side.

As for Gavin and the Supremes!

i totally agree with the 442. although we have started slow we can still win this league with the players we have got. I think we got alot of success last season with jamie nay and paul campbell down the right, bastian and deano down the left and i would have those as well as tickner, hammett and crace on the team sheet every week. We need a settled team to be able organise a successful team, i would like to see back 4 of - nay, tickner, stevens, bastian midfield 4 of - campbell, rudi, jones, nyman and hammett n crace up front. whats everyones startin 11 and favourite formation??

A player played out of position? No surely not!!

So a player with pace, skill & positional sense had an average game when all others on the pitch were......err average!!

Oh dear, oh dear..........

Dont tar all the players with the same brush. Bryan, as I said, had a reasonable game. Put himself about and demonstrated his positional play, his ability to beat a man and his passing skill.

I saw Andy Edmunds not challenging for the ball, not making himself available and giving up after he had lost the ball or a pass was misplaced.

Tuesday was the first time he had started this season. It was his chance to impress. We know what other players in the side can do but Andy is a relatively unknown talent.

I have wondered what our forward line would be like with Andy, Ricci up front and Bryan playing behind them. Now I dont want to see an experiment like that as I think we would be playing a man down.

Well I know JC was pleased with the reserve game where Andy was up tight on the last man as it worked so chill Colonel give the kid a chance! Ricci may well not be available the whole season and I think the kid can do the business.

When things are going badly less experienced players heads drop. Come to that experienced fans heads dropped on tuesday!

I would be interested to know if Edmunds body language changed after he was dropped back behind the forwards. From what i can gather we have done well to secure his services.I believe a couple of years ago he was signed for a championship club and representing his country at youth level.I didn't see tuesdays game, but i feel he has done more than enough in the limited chances he has been given to expect more time on the pitch (not to just play when Ricci or Bryan arn't available). If he doesn't produce after a few games, then by all means drop him back to the bench or the reserves.I fear he will be one of the many talented prospects that leaves the club without being given a fair chance.

Steph. You seem to have changed you opinion this season on whether Bryan should be in the starting 11.I happen to agree with you. This season he has been well worth his place and we have missed his contibution when he hasn't been available. That doesn't change the fact that Jim has stuck with him and played him consistantly through long spells of poor or indifferent form. That policy has finally paid dividend.Just think how many other talented players who have left the club unhappy at the chances they were given, would have loved that sort of extended run in the team in order to prove themselves.
