my team for staurday if available...!!

Barney, Harper, Daly, Browne, Woodruffe, DJ, Metcafe, James, Ellis, Davies, Charles.

2 wingers to give us balance, saves the strikers dropping off to find the ball.

Hopefully CJ is fit again and speaking to chippy last night he will be back.

Would like to see more of Ellis think we could have a nice players there who actually wants to play for the club.

Would like to see young Tommy used for the last half hour to give us some fresh legs instead of throwing him in at the deep end.

I think Wilko needs to be on the sidelines where he can see whats happening. I think Nick Roddis needs time off aswel, although he's gonna get that when he's suspended.

How on earth can you Suggest Steve Daly is not Committed? Take a look back at what He's done for the Club over the last 5 or so Seasons (If you have been watching for that long). If it wasn't for Steve Daly there would be no team! Steve Daly is one of the best Centre Backs to have played for the Club, Although he is slightly older now there is no way anybody in the current setup could replace Him. Browne, Harper & Mills aren't fit to tie his boots let alone be in the same team as Daly.

We/I have every right to question whether a player is fully committed or not. OK Daly has been around at the club for a long period of time but to say there would be no team without him is a bit rich - no one player makes a club regardless of how good they may or may not be.

And just to let you know, I have been supporting the club for the past 10 or so years, so I have been "watching for that long".

You haven't been watching Slough very long either it would seem, otherwise you would not make such a ridiculous statement.
Here is a short list of centre backs who played for Slough and were far far superior.
John Delaney-Kieth Mead-Alf D'arcy-Eric Young( Brighton-Crystal Palace-Wolves etc )-Phil Beal(spurs)Mickey Droy (Chelsea)as I say a short list but there are many more.
Steve Daly, yes has given good service to the club, but come on be fair he's all ways been slow and average.

So another [****!!****] stirrer! Most people will accept and agree that Steve has been a wonderfull ambassador and player for the club. This does not mean that he is neccesarily still the best centre back we have - there is a difference! Nobody should be an automatic selection, that's the way team unity disolves fastest. Also add Terry Angus, Cliff Hercules, and Jeff Bateman to that list of all time greats.

That would explain his lack of knowledge leading to silly outlandish statements, and his non understanding of what a good cente back looks like.

No, Not a Windsor Fan. I watch Windsor, Slough, Maidenhead, Staines, Burnham and other Local Teams. And I have been doing this for over 20 Years. Sadly watching different standards of Football highlights the gulf in supporters knowledge and how fickle they can be. Any of those Teams I have listed would welcome Steve Daly into their Starting 11. Sadly Steve has been too Loyal to a Club which has slowly crumbled around Him and given Him nothing back. Yet despite the Guy going unpaid for however many weeks over the last few seasons, Despite being a Super Captain and despite his loyalty some supporters still don't see this as enough. If Steve Daly decides to walk away from STFC Then at least He can Say he had a bit of a go at it, unlike some of the Current Squad who have absolutly no talent and not fight about them. I dont suppose you could see how much Losing over the last 2 seasons Hurt Him when standing Behind the opposite goal. People aren't fit enough to Slag this guy off and Say he isn't committed, Becuase If He does pack up, Only then will people realise what He brings to the team every week and what He has achieved for the Club. Everyone Has their favourites, But sometimes the People who go about their job quietly with total commitment dont always get the rewards. I only Hope Steve Daly continues to do this because He is a True Gent and a Solid Centre Back in a pretty poor team.

Daly WAS a good player and HAS show loyalty and commitment, but if you have watched him this season and last you will see his performance has droped - how many goals last season were conceded due to defensive errors where he failed to get back in time or made errors? - too many!

It is now time to look forward not backwards, and the 4 young players who turned up and played yesterday need to be the furture.

Slough Town FC no longer play at the Greyhound Stadium or Wexham Park or Slag Meadow, but at SYCOB, and hopefully soon back in Slough, and that is why we must look forward not backwards!

Suggesting he's not totally committed has sweet fa to do with his abilities/loyalty as a player for Slough either now or in the past.

Not playing in pre-season friendlies and some Saturday and midweek games because he is working suggests to me that his priorities now lie elsewhere.

When you get to Steve's age, whether it's league or park football, if you don't or can't, because of injuries or work commitments, give 100% then your form will decline rapidly.

Having said all that I have been and still am one of his biggest fans and I would put him in the team if only for his heading ability and leadership qualities.

And to satisfy your curiosity St. Leonard I've been watching Slough for about 40 years.

I think Steve also has been one of strengths in our team over the past few years ...loyalty is a 2 way street too, the club has been there for steve too...Steve has I think and will say the same, he has a job to do and has committements and maybe that is a time to sit down and see where we are going....at the moment the club needs him to be there everyweek and also at training I know it is difficult to do both...and only time will tell ...how we are going to move forward..but steve has been outstanding and a real piller of strength but times change and only time will see... cheers chris sliski

how about signing some proven players in this league who can hack it at this level and have experience of the southern league

i think maybe we underestimated this league and didnt plan accordingly at the beginning of the season,we should have been scouring the transfer list, lots of teams had players available

players like paul brett at beaconsfield big physical players who are up for it.

Cant go back that far, but in the 17 yrs ive been watching the club i would have to say Mark Foran deserves to be in that list.

Players loylties do not lie elsewhere just because they have to miss the odd game through making a living.

99% of all players at this level have to work, and not all of them have a Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm job, some have to work shifts, which will mean that they have to miss the odd game.

In my eyes, a person is making some kind of commitment (be that a large or small one), if they are willing to give up their spare time that could be spent with family, playing sports at one level or another.

That goes for all players of all sports, not just the odd one.

If a person just can not be bothered to turn up and put the hours in, then it can be said that they are not committed.

To me, the people that are not committed to our club have already turned their backs on us.

We as fans can show how committed we are by loudly supporting our club this Saturday.

I have to agree with HR. As fans we cannot help who turns up for the games, we cannot control players commitments outside of the game, but we can get behind whoever pulls on the shirt - like we did on saturday - and hopefully the players will respond to that.

This huge sense of negativity after every single step backwards has to stop, or we will keep going backwards! Yes last nights result was terrible, but it has been and gone, we need to look forward to the next game.
