It would be interesting for a player, or manager to have a go at refereeing a Senior League match, only make sure that the players didn't know, I'm sure a lot of them would have problems not only keeping up with play, but also a lot of the niggly things that go behind the officials back, the moaning from the benches (Bowers, Enfield 1893, and Stansted especially), and the dissent from players, which you can rise to as a player, but have to stand there and take as a referee, and from a little chavvy (Smallsy especially), it's hard to bite your tongue.

Roons i'm not criticising anyone.I would like to see better performances from some of these lads. They must stop looking at the names of the teams and the tables. If a bottom of the table side has gained a sacrosant penalty against a top one just give it!they must go into games without remembering the teams names and referee by the book.Or do we have to star shouting abuse louder than the opposition bench.we have a young side and we are not like that.We play sides that claim everything knowing that a weak referee will give in!i don't mention that kaiser or even smallsy they moan about everything, even a little nudge grin

Roons,we have been accused of bringing the game into drespute by the county fa for some comments about referees on our web-site.how funny is that the complaint came from the club that won the sportmanship award?Accept the criticism and try to do better.About taking up refereeing,i can assure i'll do better than a lot of refs out there because i played the game!we had a referee assessor tuesday at the concord game and when i went close to him he said"any problem **** you know where we are.they can only do their best" At the moment that best is not enough, more seminaries and training and compulsory attendancies!thank you! hump

Ok then, because you won the Sportsmanship award, you can say whatever you want.

I could say the same about some teams in the league, if you guys got on with the game instead of baiting people all the time (not aimed at Coachie) then the League would be a hell of a lot better.

bonjour Uncle !! You are quite correct........I always deserve at least a yellow, but i'm generally let off for being too damn good-looking !!

By the way, I just realised today that Ron Hanley's grand kids go to the same school as my kids (I saw him today in his AFCHx tracky top)

I bet he's gutted the Vets team has folded and Hunty is eligible to play this year !

Certainly you should take notice of the complaint because comes from a club and a manager that doesn't give you any hassle,i mean from the nice guys.Only this time the nice guys are fed up of having referees that make poor decisions costing us money(fa vase) and points(league).Just an example:last night our fa youth
cup match at witham. After going 3-0 up in 20 minutes,i don't know what happened but their players seemed struck by a jolt resulting in a manhunt of everyone wearing a blue and white shirt with a referee doing nothing about it..Luckily the chairman and myself managed to control our lads and they got on with their game in a exemplary and dignified manner. One has been the victim of racial abuse and their chairman said at the end of the game:"you have given us a lesson" but i know he was referring not only to the football side but the way our players conducted themselves in difficult circumstances.Going back to "groundhopper" Craven,i'm amazed they bother to visit hullbridge web-site.... :)there must be a" mole" on this forum that has never done a day work in his life and is always sniffing around at the County FA,listening to all gossips...well,i'm telling that person now:"keep your bespectacled nose out of it and see if you can get a job as an u'8s coach, that's about right for you!
