Re your Staines game..... It has been mentioned that there was a Ref's Assessor at the game. Presumably an assessor is qualified, so why could he/she not become the third official??????

We are asking ourselves the same question BM. It also may have been possible to play with one lino (sorry, referee's assistant). One or two errors seem to have been made yesterday. It will all come out in the wash.

Sometimes ref's assessors are retired refs, whose fitness is not up to standard.
