Enfield v Edgware Tuesday night

Even though its early days if someone had of told me pre season that we would be coming to play you and be above you in the table I would have been it has to say suprised.

I predict a close match, either ending in a score draw or one team winning it by the odd goal.

I enjoyed my visit last season in the Middx cup, as Match Secretary your board were very hospitable and the food and drink was very nice.

Looking forward to more of the same on Tuesday night, it will be good to play in front of what I hope will be at least 200+ this will be the biggest gate we have played in front of so far this season and I see this match as one of the highlights of the season in the fixture list.

We will use the Tony Hancock form of tactics.

That is Ronnie Corbett in goal.

We will play one in front of Ronnie - that is Andy Hamilton as our sweeper. He has strict instructions to stand 10 yards behind our back three who will be Ricci Crace, Bryan Hammet and Andy Jones.

We will play a six man midfield of Andy Jones, Steve Valendia, Ossie Foster, Steve Magona, Simon Tickner and Kevin Stephens. The pre-match warm up for these 6 will be especially important as they will work out their pre-match tactics then. Generally speaking they need not bother as Ricci, Bryan and Andy will be playing the long ball game with instructions to "hook it" to our front runner Rudi Hall who will use his heading ability and pace to knock Edgware for six. Thus the six midfielders will be out of the game entirely.

You will note that we have taken a leaf from Alf Ramsey's tactics and the team above are clearly wingless wonders.

You certainly have too much time on your hands! Ever thought about joining Chelsea as their manager?

What a great result for us, I thought you guys had your chances but we defended very well and on the break our pace was too much for your defenders at times.

What are your views on the match and what did you think of our support, or to be precise the 3 supporters behind the goal who sang all match wink

.

I was right about my prediction though, good luck for the rest of the season. Everyone was very friendly and a few of your supporters and memmber came up to us and wished us well and said well done.

BTW I may be match secretary of Edgware but I am supporter first and foremost and I was along with my two friends behind the goal singing all match, I hope we did not scare the neighbours smile

Cheers matey, same to you. We really do have to take a lot of stick from the local residents on matchdays, its awful. Mind you if it was'nt for the work we have put in at Goldsdown Road for the good of all who play footie there the place would still be full of herbets boozing & taking drugs, they seem to have forgotten about that, but cest la vie.
