HMV Sale

[EFM The Firm, The Voice]

Last Thursday I just popped into HMV Oxford St, I came out with 10 CD's costing me 58quid. Has anyone been suckered in by this frankly great sale?

I haven't listened to any of these yet, any reviews from anybody?

Oh definitely, about 5 years ago I went out to do some window shopping, and came back with £130 less in my pocket. I think I bought about 15/16 cd's that day.£100 spent in HMV, £30 in Virgin (5 cd's for £30).Now I'm an old [****!!****] I don't buy more than 1 a month!

I've got 4 of those- Travis, Tracy Chapman,Hives, and The Doves.I quite like the Travis one myself-apart from that 1 track that they play all the time on the radio.

 

High in all types of saturates- I'm MKJames

The La's is just superb - in my Top 10 favourite albums of all time. I'm surprised you didn't own it already, Thornsy.

 

Travis is very good too, in a kind of inoffensive, middle-of-the-road kinda way!

Midnight Vultures - A very acquired taste, I think it's a great album, it's just a like a parody of prince really. Worth owning in my view but definately try before you buy.

 

Lost Souls - It's a really good atmospheric album, worth getting.

 

Californication - Some say it's a bit of a mellowing out for RHCP but I reckon it's a very solid album.

 

Travis - The Man Who - a bit MOR really, can't criticise it but can't really get very excited either.

 

Highly Evolved - A must have, best of the bunch, a great out and out rock album.

I got "Sea Change" on your recommendation recently, SteveP. A quality album. "Already Dead" is such a good tune.

Yeah, but is very different to midnight vultures! I thought Sea Change is a great little album, not exactly happy but very good quality stuff, agree about 'Already Dead', superb tune.
