Linesmen

I think I'm right in saying that yesterday the linesmen stayed where they were for both halves, meaning that the teams had a different linesman in each half.

Whereas, often (usually?) they seem to swap ends at half time so that the same team has the same lino in each half.

I've always though the former was fair, and the latter unfair (in case of a flag happy lino etc.), but what are the rules?

I did ask this question a couple of years ago, but no-one seemed to know the answer at that time.

On the subject of lino s, it was interesting to see that Hornchurch's game with Staines was abandoned because a mutually acceptable replacement lino could not be found after one of the officials got injured.

Oddly enough Harrow found the replacement offered by us adequate when they were three-zip up....Or perhaps they'd just heard of Trevor's natural lino abilities.
