Liam Coleman

Liam Coleman? I can just about understand George Purcell going but must really question sending Liam out. I think he is a player who will go higher than the Conference and his morale will take one hell of a dent going to a lower level. Slarti, obviously if neither are playing then a loan move is a good idea, but I don't see why Liam Coleman should have no part in Liam Diash's immediate plans.

I suspect that Barretts return from injury might have something to do with Daish's thinking.

Personally I really like the energy and that Liam Coleman brings to the side but I can see that his willingness to chase everything sometimes leaves him out of position.

I have nothing whatsoever against George but it would take a stronger man than me not to laugh his ass off at Mikefleet if George is replaced in midfield by Luke Moore. biglaugh

Exactly Slarti. Up front there is now Eribenne, Nade, Luke Coleman and Hastings, with Moore and McPhee if needed.

In midfield is Long, DeBolla, Barrett, Bostwick, McPhee if needed, Moore if he continues to play behind the front two and presumably Slatter in another week or so.

Daish isn't at much risk of a sudden shortage in these departments and without a reserve side, surely it's far better to let these players start games than have them sitting on the coach to away games and having a kickabout before the match. They can be recalled anytime after the first four weeks, so short of a major emergency, I can't see the problem.

From the Tonbridge forum whom Heybridge defeated 4 - 1 last night with George scoring another 2:

"George Purcell (Heybridge No.10, on loan from Gravesend) was a class act. He tore us apart when we beat Gravesend in the Kent Senior Cup a couple of seasons ago and did it again last night. What a partnership him and Mainy would be eh? He's definitely got a bright future ahead of him!"

Although 'tearing a team apart' whilst managing to lose 7 - 4 in the KSC might seem to stretch the imagination, it was a bizarre game.

Nonethe less well done George.
