Game has not restarted since the linesman was injured.

 

Neither side can agree on a replacement and the game may be abandoned.

For my 13,000 post i have to report:

 

Game abandoned due to injury to linesman.

we were all over them for 30 minutes and then the linesman fell over as if someone had shot him...carried off on a stretcher...

 

three available replacements..all from Hx and understandably so due to the fact that his side were undoubtedly under extreme pressure...their manager said no....

 

time marched on to the half hour and then a staines official volunteered but colin had had enough at this stage and objected to that...original lino took a fitness test and failed it...little tel said he was barry fox and he'd do it and was promptly escorted out of the ground.....

 

so game abandoned.....

best we've played this season by far...twice hit the post and tommo cannoned a cracker off the bar...

jamie was first up...danny glozier's dad second up and a fan from the eastside south stand third...all refused by the staines manager...

We started well today but its all academic as there's no good result to go with it. I can't believe that the Staines manager would refuse three willing referees to continue the game, even though they all follow the Hornchurch.

 

Its annoying for everybody, particularly at this early stage of the season. Now Staines have to travel round the M25 on a cold tuesday evening.

it wasn't because they were from Hx WU...it was because he knew he would lose the game today....his shout and we'd have done the same...

Their chances of winning are even less on a damp Tuesday evening! They should have realised their best chance of a result was to play the game today.
