Same team as Burton

3 matches unbeaten, two very tough away matches at Burton and Exeter and two very good points.

Tuesday will be very difficult too, despite their finacial troubles Crawley seem to have found a way to attract some very expensive good players and are in excellent free scoring form.

Probably be another 5:4 in front of 800 people.

What is good is that we are now playing a more solid system which makes us more robust defensively.

Agree with both these posts.

It was Bostwick's goal. I refused to pay the £16 to sit in the stand so went in the home end to stand in the terrace at £13, the goal was right in front of me. It was difficult keeping tight lipped.

Unfortunaely I was one of the rest, railroaded into paying the £16, their excuse being that as we only bring a handful of supporters they couldn't justify the cost of stewarding the away end!!, and that there was scaffolding erected there, presumably for TV cameras.

The point is there were stewards occupying the away end most of the time! what were they doing? taking care of the scaffolding?

Their chief steward, (or whatever he likes to call himself), came up just before the kick off and informed us that if we stood up in a seated area, he would have no option than to remove us from the ground!!

Whatever charm school his parents paid to send him to was money well wasted, bloody jobsworth, his attitude was guaranteed to inflame fans.

Instead of politely explaining the situation in a courteous manner, which fans can relate to, he just pissed everyone off.

The game itself was no great shakes, but we definitely should have won, we rarely looked in trouble and if we did it was invariably because of Lances indecision to dominate his area, when to come for the ball or when to stay back, their goal partly came from this, he went to come out, hesitated, came again and was left floundering.

Having said that, the team generally looked solid, and McPhee especially had a good game,we didn't allow Exeter to settle and were always closing them down when thay had possession.

It's just frustrating that we didn't kill them off in the first half when we looked capable of doing so.

Not the sort of behaviour you'd hope for from a Trust-run club.

Strangely, the same problem (i.e. charging seating prices when no standing alternative was made available) occurred with various visiting sides (including ourselves) a few years ago with the old grandstand at Exeter (on Saturday away fans were allocated the Doble, the newer seated stand). Although not actually against the rules (since away fans were paying the same price as home fans for the same accommodation), Exeter did back down on that occasion and began charging terrace prices to sit down when the away terrace was closed, making Saturday's events somewhat surprising.
