We only need a merger and a couple of clubs going skint and we are safe this season!

Makes you wonder if Hampton have overspent to achieve promotion.

 

Have heard rumours about Grays and Thurrock merging.

There is still a rumour regarding moving to a new site near the Five Bells' roundabout along the A13 which is actually nearer Basildon than Grays.

 

This rumour has been going around for a while now but wouldn't be too surprised if it does happen.

I bet the Grays fans are chuffed!

At least it would give them an excuse to 'cruise' down the A13 in their converted Ford Escorts!!!

Doubt it as I can't recall any 'name' players on the four occasions Ricay played 'em last season seem to be a side more built on a good team ethic not conceding and generally boring the opposition to death

If Grays and Thurrock were to merge wouldn't they have to assume the league position of the lower club?

That's the FA ruling but doesn't seem to work that way. Hayes and Yeading and Moor Green/Solihull Borough were involved in mergers during the summer and all took the position of the higher club.

 

I get the feeling the FA asseses each individual case but more often than not the team is usually allowed to take the place of the higher league club.

Hayes and Yeading were in the same division because their merger meant that a club was not relegated and therefore saved themselves.

Oh of course.

 

Always a chance Fisher might go skint. There's been talk they might merge with Dulwich Hamlet.

They are another club that give attendances at about 300 but there's never much more than 100 in the ground.

they have a great new bar and clubhouse, which can easily cater for 200...and at cheaper prices than high street pubs....I think you'll find the extra 200 in there...
