Over past seasons lots of people have had a go at us about always being the bridesmaid and never the bride. Perhaps we will end up as runners up again this year - even 3rd in the table! But nobody can take away from us the excitement CIFC have given us fans for goodness how many years.

 

When you look at some of the teams in the Ryman Premier you wonder how they get the few fans that they do. Many of them start the season mid-way, do nothing spectacular in any of the cups throughout the season and then end up where they started - mid-way. Then their fans belly-ache and bleat on about the successful clubs buying their success when they have done it all on twopence a week and only a paper bag for changing rooms. Thank goodness that there are clubs with ambition like Canvey, St Albans, Aldershot, even Basilricay (once upon a time). They all pull something out of the hat occasionally and make the league an exciting arena for the non-league game.

 

There are some fixtures we go to knowing that there will be fireworks. Others (and not just our bogey teams) will be dull affairs, no excitement and with no atmosphere. And why does it always seem to be non-stop drizzle at those games?

 

I say 'Good Luck' to all those teams who bring glamour, colour and even controversy to the Ryman Premier.

I was speaking to a few gravesend surporters after our win against burton, and we all want canvey to come up to the conference and renew our great rivalry!!

COME ON YOU YELLOWS BECAUSE ALDERSHOT R OBVIOUSLY BOTTLING IT IN THE FINAL STAGES!!!

NOT THAT IT WILL HAPPEN But for your knowledge gravesend have been told that they would not be allowed to come back into the ryman league and they would have to go into the doc martyns league. And what happened to st albans, last time i looked they were going for promotion NOW THEY LOOK AVERAGE!!

Hmm yes but we might mistake you for Shots fans.

You need not worry about us, it's Shots you got to be worried about. Luckily the match is in April, we don't want the lights going out again!
