As most of you know my brother plays for Ware on Saturday he broke his arm playing, he is now in cast for 6 weeks and cannot work for 6 weeks.

Do you think players at this level should have football insurance? and do you think clubs should help players out when things like this happen?

Players should make sure they are adequately covered (for their individual situations), whether the club provides that cover or the player themselves.

Do you think players should be made aware of this when they are signing for a club, all the clubs i have signed for have never advised that i should be covered or asked if you are. Lucky for me i am.

Interesting point, I'm pretty sure Hoddesdon do.. seem to remember a bit of paper that said a certain amount a week would be covered, might not cover a good lunch but they make you aware of it

It is a requirement for all clubs to have a basic player insurance policy. The league will not let you play without proof of it - so Ware will be able to pay Scott something. These schemes are very limited though - usually nothing for the first couple of weeks, then no more than £30 or £40 a week.

Hi Sorry to hear about Scott as he seemed to be playing well for Ware and notching a few
I would think Scott's team mates might chip in something to help him out as that's what most of us used to do if a team mate got injured and didn't have his own insurance.
Personally I would advise getting some as the policy's are quite reasonable and cover you for the whole year and sometimes not even if your injured playing football
Quite a few of my ex team mates used to be with CIS I think
but there are alot of companies that do this type of cover.

I was at the game and he was in a pretty bad state.

Will get back to my mate Tom Loizou soon and find out how the player is doing.
