Best team on the night won. Hertford got off to a flying start with a 4th minute goal from Lee Roberts as they looked like carrying on where they left off on Saturday. But The Side had other ideas, and with almost the same line-up as Sat, when they had been easy meat, they suddenly turned into a typical Essex Thameside team - rawboned power and aggression allied to no little skill and craft. By 34 minutes it was all over, and Hertford hadn't even brought the kitchen sink with them to throw at Barkingside in the final minutes.

Good luck to Barkingside in the next round! Nice to see Paula, who did turn up as promised, and Football Man also.

I would have still turned up but would have probably had a twenty quid bet beforehand with Horace or Football Man that you wouldn't have showed, as it turned out I would have lost. Was MCP there too.

I can't imagine Football Man having any mates, not close ones anyway, it was presumably the guy who went to Kentish Town v Brimsdown last season and debriefed him so inaccurately afterwards saying that our programme was printed upside down

There is a report of the match on the FA website. Choose the read aloud option and you can have it spoken to you by one of those automated voice thingamajigs. Its got very little sense of punctuation and sounds a little strange.

No, he was in the stand throughout the game. And he still finds that programme funny! I'm trying to persuade him to put it on e-bay 'cos I know you'll pay an absolute fortune to buy it back (on the credit card, of course, you don't have any cash)!
