Random fanzine question

How many fanzines has Slough had?

I helped edit one called 'Rebels Without A Clue' and Lucky Hat Tony did 'Banging with Manning' (think it was called that) Any others? Didn't Radders publish one?

 

There is a reason for all these random questions, as i'm researching and writing articles for the programme.

Was there one called Catlin's left boot? Or was that a feature in one of the others? Can't remember now.

There was one that Matt Cleverley and Radders did, I think it was called Parklife.

Didn't the Rebel band Wembley 73 had one called Wembley 73.

Think I have a few issues at home.

Hanging with Hazel or whatever it was, was a poss new name when Paul Manning left us. We stuck with Banging with Manning in the end as it was an established name, now sadly missed. Was worked on by some great journalistic talents (me). My fav new name was vetoed"f###### with Fiore"!!!!!

Bring it back!??? Good luck to ya! Trust me, nobody bothers! It ends up the same one or two people scratching around for ideas.

Eddie Marr tried to ban us a few times though, which was nice.

 

Wembley 73 was a freebie, and they (nearly )always just shoved in Banging with manning or we stapled it together.

I was thinking about a fanzine, but with our attendance/regs who would buy it i dont think it would be viable really, shame some of the Rebel Yell stuff was very funny as was Banging With Manning ne' [****!!****] with fiore ne' hanging with hazel nee' hunting with bunting or whatever was the name of the week...

Don't suppose any of the editors(use the term loosely) still have/remeber Danny Bolts player profile? Especially the reply to the dirtiest player question,twas utter filth if i'm not mistaken.

Jacko.....ah the Danny Bolt player profile!

For those that don´t know, we pre printed a form for the players, asking the rudimentary quesions. ie. fave W-ank mag. dirtiest playr(most said andy clement!). most times puked in a night(Cliff Hecules filled up sink with puke), and other very important questions. we gave tem to the players and said return when you can. most of them filled them in.

As Jacko says, Danny Bolt´s was the greatest, but, it was not printable!!! that´s one sick puppy. he actually added his own questions! If we had printed we would have been done for libel from his former team-mates and broke several pornographic laws!

Of Course we showed anyone who as interested!

Our fanzine sounds very tame by comparison, although we managed to get banned by issue 4 by insulting our local MP at the time, old fatso John Watts.

Oh and Grandad, seeing as you are such a great journalist why don't you write some articles for the programme!

Brighton, think I walked into that one!! Pleading lack of time and other commitments at moment, but if things calm down, may well do.

 

Jacko, most of the man of the match awards were warranted, but a few beers would not go amiss!!

 

Danny Bolt a misunderstood footballing genius, well he shut that old git moaning mick up a few times. Happy days!

I do remember your fanzine with fondness BR especially when you were banned from selling it after the Watts issue and the front page was 'The [****!!****] hits the fan..zine' QUALITY.

Still have all my copies at home. All the jokes about Maidenhead don't seem quite as funny any more!
