I said did WE (whilst at Enfield Fc) sign them from Hillingdon.

This is what you put.

Didn't we sign Andy Pape (or Dave Howell) from Hillingdon many moons ago?

And there's me thinking this was the ETFC forum,

As ETFC was formed by Enfield Fc fans.I would find it very strange if we didn't mention our past on this forum.OUR club at the time signed Andy Pape .OUR club at the time signed Howell. As such, did WE sign either of them from Hillingdon.I think everybody (including yourself) were fully aware of which club i was talking about.

Children, children, play nicely.

For the record, Enfield FC signed Andy Pape and Dave Howell from Harrow Borough, in 1985 and 1984 respectively. The last two players signed from Hillingdon Borough were John Bishop and Eddie Reeve in 1976.

Your history in the borough, and that of Enfield Town Football Club may have started in 2001.Most of our history of Football in Enfield started many decades before that.

Enfield Fc fans formed ETFC. FACT!

We only did so because it was a last resort in order to save and preserve football in Enfield(and the spirit of the old club).FACT!.

ETFC are a completly new club and we have created our own history and glorious memories. FACT!.

That doesn't mean that the 95% of us current ETFC fans that witnessed OUR club win the Conference,Trophy.etc.should ever forget or disown our own personal history and past.

PS..Why would i want to to support a newly formed club playing in Herfordshire? I believe the bloodline of ETFC has always been closer to that of the 'old' club, than the current EFC (even before the liquidation).

I disagree with your small minded view,

you are saying that only 5% of those thru the gate were not supporters of Enfield FC?

Wake up!!

Some of them weren't even born!

i have respect for those that supported EFC, as I and my children did, but guess what. ITS GONE

Move on

our histrory has zero to do with EFC, just look in out program, and you will see what WE have won not what anothe rclub achieve, last century

get over it

ps I assume you have renewed your membership and are standing for the board

Southport. You seem to have developed a somewhat devisive attitude on this forum in the last year or so.

If i may copy your confrontational style for a moment.

100% of the people that formed and founded ETFC 6 years ago were fans of Enfield Football club.GET OVER IT!

I do agree that Towns history from 2001 has nothing to do with EFC,but the history of ETFC's creation has everything to do with Enfield football club, and the past and present history of the majority of Town fans is overlapped and entwined in both clubs. EFC -2001/ETFC +2001

PS..I'm glad we are getting in new young local supporters all the time.Thats one of the reasons the club was formed.

PPS..It none of your business if i've renewed my membership, and no i am not standing for the board. smile

I'm going to put my tuppance worth in here...

I was Chairman of the supporters club of EFC, on the Committee and supported them for 40 odd years but I don't think about their history just our own....

I wish them well, look at their results but err thats it....

Neither do I go on THEIR forum and wind them up.

It strikes me that people who USED to support them and STILL show much interst in them should adapt a better attitude towards them.

Jim.You are totally missing the point.I have no interest in the current EFC1893 set-up (apart from the fact that i still resent them for going against the wishes of their former fellow supporters).Just because a team still use the franchise/badge of Enfield Football Club, does in no way mean that i consider that current outfit in anyway the same club as the one i supported for 20 years. When i talk about pre 2001 EFC,i am talking about a completely seperate entity in my mind to that of the current EFC/1893.For me and many others, my beloved old club ceased to exist in 2001.A few people subsiquently deciding to take over the debt of Tony Lazarou did not change that opinion one iota.

I feel it is sad that many current ETFC fans deny, ignore or playdown their OWN glorious past football history.Being proud of our past and acknowleding how Town were formed and the influences brought to our new club, should not diminish the passion, pride and commitment we have for Enfield Town Fc.

For what it's worth, I'm with LS on this one. My timeline is identical to his, and Jim's, and I'm not about to deny my 25 years' support for EFC.

Let's keep things in perspective - this whole spat was started off by a careless (Freudian?) use of the word 'we'. Hardly worth a full-on row, is it?

Now behave all of you, or I'll be round in the small hours and put a bat up your nightdress...

(Haven't used that one for years blush)

I wasn't actually having a go at LS for what its worth....

I never deny my time line either it's more the fact that ETFC is the hear and now and should be for all of us.

I was making the point, however, about people going on the EFC web site and winding them up - and making the point of respect for a club we all supported. And yes I still consider EFC as being EFC. ETFC is ETFC and the club we formed because.....

And as for bats FJ - are we talking winged or cricket. Mel has often wanted to attack me with the cricket type....
