Choice or forced? Did the Committee meet and say something like "First game in our new home ground Saturday, need to show off and make a fuss of those who attend, including any dignataries. Better send our biggest embarrassment as far away as possible"?

No, the answer is simple, I was told to keep the programme to about twenty pages and adhered to the instructions to the letter as it had exactly twenty pages, no doubt it will increase in size during the course of the season

Seeing how it is unlikely the Club would have secured the Copthall Stadium for this season without my badgering of, and negotiating with, key people involved in the decision I don't think that would be the case do you, it was my decision to go the The 61FC as, like St Margaretsbury Reserves on Saturday, they were short handed. I'm glad I did as our 3-2 win was one of the best games I've seen since being with the Club which put us top of the Reserve Division 2 East.

SteveR - I'm still waiting to hear from Hendonboy about the feasibility study you carried out at the Copthall Stadium a few years back, can you hurry him along if you don't mind, thanks in advance.

I'm still intrigued to why you were asked to keep it to 20 pages Rhodes, does the club pay for the paper, print etc and want to keep the costs down, especially as the programme is thrown in free with admission.

As you say it will no doubt increase in size then I presume that you haven't been instructed to keep it to 20 pages throughout the season, otherwise I can imagine Hoddesdon will be rubbing their hands together in glee!

AWK - Well you tell me, I just do as I'm told. To be honest I wasn't that sorry as I have a lot on my plate at the moment at home with the family, at work and with my Community work in Haringey with the Police so it saved me a lot of time, last season I usually spent a whole week on the programme proceeding every home game and it was starting to take its toll.
